Title: Sd.Kfz. 232 Scout Walker
Post by: Pappa Midnight on August 14, 2007, 05:22:46 PM
I've just finished painting a Sd.Kfz. 232 Scout Walker for alternative WW2 games.(I copied the idea from Agis' excellent Halftrack conversion.)

The model is a 1:72 scale 232 and a GW Sentinel with a few spares from my bits box.
All I need to do now is a pilot!

Sa-weet! Very nice, and I really like the slightly exaggerated weathering.

Thanks guys :)

I like my vehicles dirty and battered!!!!!

Grimm, I'm looking for a suitable 28mm pilot. I should have mentioned the scale.
I 'm either going to use a late Panzer Crewman or possibly convert a normal mini using West Wind's separate head system.

Bolt Action Miniatures have a very nice late war Panzerman half figure grasping a pair of field glasses; superb figure, which I´ve used for various projects, including my SdKgz1:

For a closer look, my Panzer III:

And, if necessary (although I shudder at the very thought!) you could easily snip off the head and put a SHS one on the body.

I am not usually a fan of this style of walker, but I must admit that I am impressed.  Love the pintle mounted MG42.  Excellent paint job too. Great stuff!

Thanks again for the comments!

Westfalia Chris: I'll be contacting "Bolt Action" shortly, thanks for that. BTW love you Panzer Mech!

Auton, you've just kick started an idea. I was thinking about doing a "Haunted Tank". I'm sure I've seen some WW2 ghosts somewhere.
I nice "smashed up" Panzer iii and some ghosts..........Hmmmm
