Title: Terrain Piece for Chaos in Cairo (and others)
Post by: Ramirez Noname on October 08, 2010, 09:45:25 PM
Hi,

Having just read Axebreaker’s comments about desert terrain for Chaos in Cairo, I thought I would post a couple of pics of my main terrain piece for our forthcoming adventures.

Bluemoon minis and Scenix pre-painted columns, which have been hacked about a bit to provide variation. This piece has recently been on display at a model railway show and everything is stuck down – I’ll have to dig the minis out so they can be finished ready for our game.

The main piece

a couple of dodgy "sepia" shots ...

The hills are polystyrene blocks spackled, painted and covered with graded sand; the railway track is from Peco, the skip from Malcolm Savage/ 5.5mm Association and the flat car with the sarcophagus is a scratchbuild of my own design. Other ancillary bits of resin are from Monolith.

There are some “Egyptian” type buildings on the work bench ATM – foam core boxes with a spackle finish – nothing too taxing.

Very keen! Much larger than the terrain pieces I tend to use. The different elevations should provide some interesting variety for your games.

Thanks Scorpio,

I like to have a fairly large "statement" piece in our skirmish games - It seems to work for us and I can take them along to Model Shows and exhibit them on their own. It makes packing up at the end of al ong day (or weekend) very easy.

I usually provide some smaller terrain pieces as well, especilally corner pieces as these areas tend to get forgotten about.

Lovely. How a piece of rail and a cart say 'Adventure going HERE!'

On a side note I am very proud to be moderator of Workbench. There has recently been such number of great projects shown here.

That is fabulous. I liked it when I saw it first in its former life, but now it´s a true wargaming piece of art!

I enjoyed seeing your latest terrain piece and think you have done a great job in marrying the Peco track and Egyptian terrain pieces together.
