Title: HAMBURG TACTICA 2011 – THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK (UPDATE!!!!)
Post by: Frank on October 22, 2010, 11:08:34 AM: After my Deathstar scenario (TACTICA 2010), I have planed to make a follow-up for the TACTICA 2011. Together with Frank Germershaus (a talented modeller of miniatures as well) I am currently working hard on the gameboards and the miniatures. Here are some pictures of my part (miniatures and snowbattlefield) and the first WIP pictures of the Echo-Base completely made by Frank Germerhaus.

Do you have an overall shot of the snow board also?
Are the two boards supposed to link together for play? That would be huge.
Does the second level of the base have playable rooms underneath also? I see doors and windows hinting at it.

WotC Star Wars miniatures, roughly 28mm or so...

Frank: how did you paint the minis? Dipped? I "retouched" a hundred or so Tusken Raiders last summer and have been tempted to do the same to the rest of my SW minis, but I find the white armour a bit intimidating to do...

well this is a big *wow* with a huge W in front ;D I plain love the whole. Though there is one shot (the one of the Hangar, just after the gate) which made my eyes pop.. as a base picture from the UFO Game (the old, original game).
That looks just so cool. I wonder if the Hirstarts "StarWars" Scenery Molds would be compatible *g*

On the first picture you can see 4 of the 5 already finished game boards (each 60 x 120 cm)…there will be 7 at the end!!! Frank Germerhaus did a great job on painting the hangar area! By the way…there will be a test of two scenarios at the Horisont 2010 in Esbjerg…don’t miss it. :D

AT-AT ought to be from Star Wars miniatures... Falcon and X-wing I suppose is Galoob's Action Fleet, but that's just a wild guess.

I'm also curious on how you repainted the minis. Look like they've been touched up then dipped then touched up again?

I will try to answer your questions:

The Falcon is a prepainted snap-kit form Revell (easykit): http://www.revell.de/starwars/produkte/en-produkte.html

The Power Generator is made form some parts of an old wardrobe (not by myself…this one is made by another Frank).

The Miniatures are washed with GW “Devlan Mud” and then painted with some highlights and finished with a “blacklining” for the deeper shadows.

Post by: Frank on January 06, 2011, 02:06:44 PM: Yes, the squares are for movement and ranges. The rules we are playing with are the d20 rules by WotC, the company how also produce the miniatures and same of the vehicles. The X-Wing is also a easy-kit from Revell.

I totally agree and that's what I did...a kind of child dream. I was 12 years old when I saw the first Star Wars movie in 1977. At this time I wanted to buy an army of Star wars miniatures to play with but they didn't exist.....now my dream came to reality more than 30 years after the first episode :D .....may be that's why we are all old children on this forum....

I was 5 in '77, blew me away then, continues to do so even now. I'll be recounting my latest project very soon so keep an eye out, it might be something you'll like. ;)
