Title: Build Something 2 - CD: We have a winner!
Post by: Hammers on November 15, 2010, 03:41:51 PM
Let me be the first to congratulate Elysium64 as the victor of the 2nd LAF 'Build Something' contest!

The numbers below speak for themselves, more than a quarter of the votes cast went in his favour and and he has almost double the votes of the runner up.

A well deserved victory, think I! The VSF Pipe Organ was both highly original and very well executed.

The winning entry again (Imagine Scott Joplin's 'The Entertainer' rag tooting from it while letting out a cloud of scalding steam. I know I do).

Also congratulations to the second and third runners up, Christian closely followed by Gamer Mac. Well done, both of you!

These three chaps will get to pick in order of honour, from a modest pile of loot which I will post as soon as I have hauled my ass out to the shed to root it out.

The winner tabulation, in falling order of votes:

That's it from me. Many thanks to everyone who participated. I hope you enjoyed this years competition and its theme.

My favourite right from the start. Just wonderful, idea and execution.

Should be playing toccata though ;)

Congratulations for the winners, and for the rest too! Too bad the minaret and the power generator didn't make it to the final. This was my first contest and I had lots of fun building and painting, following the other WIPs and then voting, so thank you all.

Thank you everyone who voted for me, this was my first competition here, and I am honoured to be among such talented company.
For me one of the best things from this competition is that it has re-inspired me and broken a long period of inactivity.

Good win, suggests to me something which might feature in a Munchausen story.

Well done to all who entered though, good effort and as usual more important to take part than to win.

Well done indeed to all the finalists. Any one of those would have been a worthy winner, and I'd have been happy to have had any of them on my table... In fact, now the competition's finished, why not pack 'em up and send 'em over to me  :D

Well done Elysium. A beautifully conceived, executed and finished little piece of scratch building  :)

And good on Hammers for running the thing.
