Hello all, you may or may not have noticed that the Combat Zone Chronicles are active again, and one of the new offerings is my article on the Combat Zone Slasher. Obviously based on my love of slasher classics I decided to make myself a Jason Vorhees and a Michael Myers. For the full article on how I did the models, and for rules and scenarios for Combat Zone I refer you to the Chronicles themselves:

Here are lots more pictures of the same two models for your enjoyment 8)

Haha! This is bizarre, I was actually just thinking of going to have a look-see at the co-zo.
I like these guys too.
-
Very nice.
-
Great idea for the Michael Myers mask. I don't think it looks too big at all, it reads more as a mask. Cool stuff!
-
Very nice article and I loved your two Slasher conversions! :-*
Darkoath
-
They look great.
-
Really nice conversions, and nice rule additions too ;)
Just finished watching the new "Nightmare on Elmstreet" movie, brought back long forgotten memories...
Have to make my own Freddy Krueger now :D
He's my alltime favorite slasher, and Jason second in line

The mantic ghoul sprue has the perfect freddie glove if you ever get round to doing it.
Nice article Pil, got the email through from Doug, must look at combat zone soon.
You must have an offshore credit account with E4M miniatures now with all the articles you've done over the years! Feed the lead!!! :D
The Commander

I have invested the credit right back into the lead mountain :D Thanks for all the kind words, I'm looking forward to the Freddy conversion, haven't seen the new remake yet though.

Was thinking about that glove ;)
But maybe I will make my own, not sure right now.
The conversion work is not the problem, it's the painting which I don't get around a long time now ::)
Was last time I painted something is about a year ago...
Hope to restart that soon, though ;)

After a long time searching for the right basemodel, I finally finished my (con)version of Freddy Krueger today.
Here he is:

Hope to paint him on the weekend.

Head from the Mantic Ghoul sprue, hat from the Copplestone Tommiegunner I used for the Punisher, right glove from the GW Mordheim/Militia sprue and blades from plasticard

Any chance of seeing an angle that shows where the but of the gun was? I'd like to see how you cleaned that part out.
-
Will post a pic as soon as the accu is recharged ;)
-
So, charged enough.

May it help ;)

Thanks. Doing a conversion like that where something the figure is holding or wearing is hard to remove or kind of part of the sculpt has always scared me. I messed up a Heresy Riddick pretty good trying to swap out his cup hand for something else. First I tried to remove the cup, then I took off the whole hand. I used the wrong tool and messed up the arm.
-
Yes, removing is sometimes a problem.
Mostly I use 2 different knives, one with a straight blade, the other one with a curved tip.
