Title: Necro Tech
Post by: The Gray Ghost on November 25, 2010, 03:23:36 PM
I am looking for figures and other pieces that look like a fusion of necromancy and technology, I already have most of Warmachine's Cryx figures.

Second time in as many days I've plugged Ral Partha, but...

They still have the old VOR Pharon minis, nice bit of egyptian style space undead (I used a couple of the big "Noble" constructs for support in my Stargate Jaffa army):

The Mutant Chronicles Universe (and thus, Warzone) actually has Necro Tech for the Dark Legion.

Perhaps you can find some suitable WZ Miniatures in Prince August's Webshop (http://www.princeaugust.ie/target_games/) (clickable).

The Alchemists of Dirz (Confrontation and Ragnarok tabletop games/Rackham) also have a similar theme going on, although most of the troops are clones rather then Undead types. They would be more suited to a fantasy setting, however, if that's what you're looking for.

The whole of the Ral Partha range will be going up in price soon.It is a good time to buy.

I would recommend the Pharon miniatures too.Great sculpts.

The Kryomek line has some hybrid types in it.They might be suitable.

Warhammer 40K's Necrons.  ;)
Add some rotting fleshy bits with green stuff and you're set.

I believe you're thinking of Ral Partha's "Hot Lead" line.  There were these two lines (space knights and necrovores) and a third (psions, alien types) that were designed to work with a set of minis rules that Steve Jackson Games developed but never released.

The necrovores would definitely qualify for this, though.  Skeletons with nary a bit of flesh on them, but all kinds of high-fantasy inspired techno bits (helmets with spikes, horns, and plumes).  There's a piece on 'em over at That Miniatures Page: http://theminiaturespage.com/workbench/595567/ (http://theminiaturespage.com/workbench/595567/)
