I've finished the gateway and it's going in the mould box after I've posted this :)
Piccies below are of it before casting and I'll hopefully put some up of it painted tonight (no snow and bright sunshine here :) ) and full pictures of the two sets that will be available (details below)

That's a Peter Pig Sammy in front to give an idea of scale.
Set 1 comprises of the following parts and is suitable to sit on a table edge and will be £140 painted and £95 unpainted (works out to be about a 15% discount)

JW02 x 3 (straight walls)
JW03 x 1 (normal corner)
JW04 x 1 (wall tower)
JW05 x 1 (corner tower)
Set 2 comprises the following parts and can be assembled as a complete castle. This set will be £210 painted and £140 unpainted (again with an approx 15% discount on buying separately)
JW01 x 1 (gateway)
JW02 x 6 (straight walls)
JW03 x 2 (normal corners)
JW04 x 1 (wall tower)
JW05 x 2 (corner towers)

I can see another project getting started with these.A great new piece for the range.

Very nicely done JB. :-* :-* Cannot see me ever being in the market for a 15mm samurai building but if I was you can be sure I would not be going anywhere else.

Very nice. Once more the requirement for a winning lottery ticket or selling a few organs is apparent. :'(

Beautiful work Sir!
-
Thanks chaps :)
Didn't get a chance to paint one last night as I was out with Mrs Bibbly (not her real name, or mine for that matter lol ) but I will be tonight so watch this space.

James, that is absolutely beautiful. If it wasn't for the fact that I long ago foreswore 15mm in favour of retaining my eyesight, I would be seriously tempted into a whole new period and setting just by that lovely model you've made. :)

hope so, hardly to figure her as mrs. Bibbly... mrs Oshiro sounds better! ;) anyway you will get some money from king's college very soon through me...

This is wonderful. I think you are filling a real need in the world of 15mm Samurai and doing it with a beautiful product. Are there plans for a central keep-style building?
-
Thanks for the kind words chaps, unfortunately, cold weather has stopped me from spraying outside and Mrs Bibbly certainly doesn't want me to do it inside so a painted version will be a few more days yet :(
There will be a stand alone keep (tenshu), some internal barrack buildings, a few more different wall sections and I'm toying with making an internal palace. We'll have to see about that though :)

Hi James,
this piece looks really nice. Pitty I am doing my samurai in 25-28mm. If I do some FoG samurai armies I know where I will buy the buildings. Once more, very very nice, keep it going! ;)
-
Jim I suppose you do not have a hidden cellar for spraying all the season (I have it home... but until snow stops in London no more spraying actually I did some black priming saturday and some varnish sunday and it was still good... now... :?
but please if you cannot paint... keep modelling!

Great work. I will have to dig those 15mm out now...

Piccies below are of it before casting
the master is all grey... what do you use to sculpt? or do you prime it before moulding?
great job, i always loved 15mm scenery, and yours are really high quality!
-
Thanks :)
The master get primed before moulding to see if there are any bits I've missed.

do you use laser cuts, right?
do you have the machine or what? since i'm a semi-pro scenery sculptor (semi means that i don't live from this!) i'm interested in that. i made my first custom order a week ago and i'm waiting for my pieces, i'm gonna sculpt a line of WWII 28mm facades, but maybe you know better places where to make orders! ^^
what material did you use for the rocks and for the wooden door?
i don't want to make you spoiler your techniques if you don't want, just... curious!
-
Aha, that would be telling ;)
I have the use of a laser cutter at work (amongst other machines), the rocks are embossed plasticard and the doors are balsa :)
