Dear Lead Adventurers,
Over the last months, I haven’t been very present on the forum. The reason for that was that I've been very busy preparing the start-up of my miniatures company, a venture which turned out to be one of the most interesting and important projects of my life. It was a lot of really hard work, but I'm happy and proud about the result. Obviously, I hope you'll like it too.
I've decided to name the company after our forum – “Lead Adventure”. Not just because it's a cool name, no, there’s more to it. It encompasses my wargaming philosophy, and the way I feel about it - individuality, creativity and imagination, all defining qualities of our beloved Lead Adventure forum. These principles should be the cornerstones of the philosophy of Lead Adventure Miniatures.
Amen, brothers and sisters... :-)
The only thing that remains for you to do now: just click the link below to read more of my pathos-laden ruminations and see some miniatures.

Hear hear! Let me be the first here to congratulate you and wish you marvellous success as a Lead Baron (TM). ;)

This post is a place holder for suitably epic words of congratulation, once I find a few worthy of the occasion. :D
-
Blimey. Where's my wallet?
Fantastic stuff.
:-*
-
Prof. may I say congratulations!Would you like the deeds to my house now or later?

Best of luck with all of these excellent new minis! I love seeing new stuff that makes my brain fire with ideas. All of these releases have had that effect.

The very best of luck with your new Adventure, Prof.
I think it would be rude not to order something from you, especially with Christmas on the horizon :)
-
Simply amazing news, Professor! :) I wish you all the best and I am certain that your little company will grow strong with such lovely ranges! Hundred thumbs up!
-
Congratulations, sir!! Best of luck in crossing the chasm from gamer to game producer!! It would be interesting if you could also share your insights and experiences in this venture as some of us (ok, me!) have had the idea of doing this as well.
-
Congrats on the launch. Some lovely stuff there and I think there might be something of a captive audience in these parts...
-
all my best wishes to you!
you are really promising, and i'm gonna follow you... really closer! :-*
my cutter is at your service, mylord.
-
Congratulations Prof. ! I wish you much success :) Great looking minis!
-
These are some of the nicest minis I have seen for a while.
If I wore a hat I would doff it, as i don't here is an approving nod instead.
-
woohoo :-*
Good luck Prof!
I'll be with you :D
-
Congratulations and good luck with your venture. My credit card is about to get bashed again.
-
WOW!
Best wishes and and good look.

I couldn't be happier for you! This a wonderful range - and a great website too!
The very best of luck to you - but honestly you won't need it :)
-

At last, a model Grimm - my world is complete ;) :-*
my world is it too :) will post a short video of Grimm making terrain soon...
-
Excellent news! I'm going to have to buy some, because they are just too dang cool not to, even though I don't play either genre... yet. Captain Blood, you say? Can't wait to see the figures coming for that range.
Good luck!!
-
This is excellent news! I'm really excited about the whole project. This is already one of the best looking miniature web pages out there :P Congratulations, Prof.! You have been busy...
-
Wishing you every success in your new venture. Like the Grimm figure a lot, ideal for hunting deep ones :D
-
Congratulations!
I especially like your Bonnie and Clyde figures.
Chuck

Congrats Alex ;)
Hopefully this will take your eye off the moves on the chequered board somewhat o_o

thanks! didn't play chess for 10 months..we'll have a game next year for sure, Mark :)
-
Congratulations and good luck.
A lovely display already. :-*
I'm sure we will see more miniatures here that only the father of LAF could dream up.
Watching and waiting with anticipation.
-
Coming off as a know-it-all, but I knew this was coming as soon as you started selling off your Copplestone minis - "Copplestone!", I thought, "Something serious is brewing. He's either buying a house..." (the usual excuse around here :)) "...or starting his own miniatures company." Congratulations. Great stuff. Did you do the painting?
-
got a house already :)
Thank you! yes, I did the painting.
-
Congratulations and good luck.
Great looking web pages and mini's. Looking forward to purchasing some of your stuff in the future.
-
Good Luck! Any way we can get even bigger pictures? I'd like to be able to see some more detail!

Welcome to the Guild of Calamitous Intent, German Alex. Allow me to be the first to welcome you. Good luck with your releases, and your plans. They all look great!
May your enemies fall like drops of rain..
-The Other Alex
-
Thats great Prof! As soon as I recover from Christmas I am all over the VSF stuff. I hope my two favorite subjects Old West and Pulp Heroes will be represented (in due time of course :))!
-
Fantastic! Finally a reliable source for Ratnik VSF miniatures, and in pewter yet! Hurray! (to say nothing of the Grimm figure and all the other goodies that I'm sure will be coming down the pike). Congratulations on the new venture, I'm sure it will be a success.
*Edit*
Is it wrong of me to dream of a day when it will be possible to field an entire 5-man LPL entry consisting solely of LAF personalty figures...? (Prof, Grimm, Cap, etc.)
-
Congratulations and good luck. The post apoc slide show is fantastic.
Can't wait to see the rest of the Ratnik Miniatures released.
-
To see you in the cadre of White Metal Barons... All the best Alex. Please don't push Messieurs Copplestone, Lurch, Owen and Hicks out of the business.
-
They look really good!
-
Oh yes! Fantastic news! This must be like a wet dream for all the people on this board. Terrific miniatures by our own Prof. Ace! 8)
Will place an order this morning...
-
Congratulations Prof,
hmm, better check if there's something there I want for Christmas :)
-
Thank you all! :)
Good Luck! Any way we can get even bigger pictures? I'd like to be able to see some more detail!
will post bigger pics soon

It's not wrong. The next one is in the pipeline already.
-
What with the current exploding interest in Fallout miniatures I think you are on the right track, there, Alex.
-
Great, it's really beautiful work
Your are beautiful miniatures :-*
-
Great News Alex, I hope the new venture goes well and you sell lots of lead. Now must place an order for a Grimm... :D
-
Many congratulations Alex :D I hope it goes really well for you 8)
I think I might have to partake of the VSF figures :-* :-*
And I think a range of LAF senior members is a great idea, do we think certain members would play with themselves in a game ??? lol
cheers
James
-
Excellent stuff! Now will you be the one to approach if I should be looking for a distributor in the near future? ;)
-
Well now I know why witchunter.net, backofbeyond.de and the mad painters diary haven't been fixed yet. :D Seriously, congrats on your new venture Prof.
-Todd
-
, do we think certain members would play with themselves in a game ??? lol
I don't like that image...
-
Congratulations Professor, I wish you a great success!!
The shop looks great, good images of the minis... very fast and easy... Why don't you add a coming soon section too? are you gonna buy the whole steampunk ratniks?
Ordering the steampunk minis in this week :-* :-*
Good luck!!
-
Captain Blood, you say? Can't wait to see the figures coming for that range.
Good God no! No mini of me please. I'm much too nondescript.
I'd like to see a Hammers though - the Mad Swedish Avenger. With a dog for the kennel club, obviously :)
(And if you made a 28mm Malamute, you'd only need to make it 20mm. In fact you might get away with 15... ;) lol)
Although thinking about it, as he's a lead baron in his own right, he's probably already got a self portrait underway ::)
-
Good decision. And you made the best miniature in the world - Grimm, the fischerman. One wish: Please make another Grimm with T-Shirt and short trouser to see his tattoes....
-
Congratulations Alex! Cracking figures, I wish you every success with the new venture.
-
Excellent news and lovely, lovely products. All the best with your new venture Alex, I hope it brings you the pleasure and world domination you deserve! :)
-
its great, just had a look , all awesome
well done and the best of luck

There are already plenty of Richard and Nick proxies. Any old scruffy Old Glory pirate will do for Richard. As for Nick, take your pick among all Nosferatu miniatures out there.
Also, *always* remember to flip the Captain Blood miniature ove when he's hit. Richard likes that.

Mount it on a Subbuteo base and watch him bounce back, politely sneering at your feeble attempt to throw him off-balance. lol

Endlich Ratnik Minis in Deutschland!Kanns kaum erwarten...

Nah, he would prefer to be a Zombie figure made out of plastic. ;)
-
:o Brilliant news Professor! Love the Grimm fig, not much opportunity to paint his tatoos though 8)
-
GREAT,,,,,Cant wait to get my hands on these. Good luck, but I dont think you need it. THE CID.
-
All I can say its about time! :D
All the products are great! I cant wait to get paid so I can give you my money. lol
-
Some lovely figures there Prof. :-* :-* :-*
Great to see the Ratnik figure in lead(?) at last.
A pity you didn't open a couple of weeks early when I was looking for ideas for Xmas presents.
Well now I will just have to hope I get some money for Xmas :D
Good luck on your latest Adventure.

Truly amazing news... :)
-
it's so great to get such nice feedback, very appreciate it, thanks!
Why don't you add a coming soon section too? are you gonna buy the whole steampunk ratniks?
will do, Mortimer. And yes, all the ratnik steam-punks will be adding to our range, also some new ones.
Great to see the Ratnik figure in lead(?).

Just how would one go about painting the Sailor Jerry Aloha Monkey in 28mm, anyway? :)
-

lol
Where did the monkey put his nut?
-
Best of luck with the new venture Alex.
:)
-
I guess those who refuse to paint eyes on a 28mm figure are going to balk at the bumhole on a monkey tattoo, as well. ;)
-
Wonderful news. I wish you the best of luck with your enterprise. And that Grimm is seriously cool (just like his living counterpart...).
-
Congratulations prof. Witchheim, a very new wellcome wonderful venture.
We will provide next to see how to put your miniatures in our future universe of Naran, for playing them with our Naran Future Wars.
It may be a new section for Steampunk-Victorians minis.
Bye,

Will you also carry the other Ratnik ranges ?
And is LAM the main distributor or just some kind german retail outlet for Ratnik ?
-
Greetings
what a fine si(gh)te your new endeavour seems to be. Registered this morning and now I am looking through your goodies as...
I have a Prof,
I want a Grimm
and I will most assuredly buy the dive set. I had a belly laugh though as I noted the candles in front of the deep-diver flamethrowers (or are those wale oil throwers I wonder ??).
Sehr schön Alex, weiter so.
cheers
Jo

Good luck Prof. !

Best of luck ith the new project. :)

Congratulations on the new endeavor! Good luck and good sales to you.

Good, good news indeed!

It's no different from ordering something from in the UK, mate. We're all in the EU now. Just find an online exchange rate site if you're not sure how much it's costing you in pounds. Most have a converter that will tell you exactly what the amount is if you type in the Euros.
I have found that when ordering stuff from Germany (from Pardulon, or stuff off German eBay) it usually comes almost as quick as things from home.
-

At the moment LAM is the main distributor of Post-Apoc and Victorian Sci-Fi ranges. It’s too soon to talk about other Ratnik stuff.
-
Nice move and a bit of a coup to get the Ratnik figures :-*.
I posted a link on the Steve Dean site as the Ratnik figures caused a lot of interest some months back.
Good luck in the venture.
-
good luck ,touch iron or wood as you like lol,
hope you obtain success for your work.

Großer Sport.
I hope I'll be more liquid after X-mas and can order the Stalker minis. i'm waiting a long time for them.
-
Excellent, excellent! I really like the site and its layout. The scenery-laden eye-candy banner especially. It really caught my attention when I first opened it up. I had told myself I wouldn't buy anything more till after the new years, but this'll definitely be the exception.
I wish the best of luck to you in your ventures with this company.
-
Alex, all the best for your company from me! Cool move to start with the Ratnik stuff, and I'm pretty sure that you are the right man in the right place!
:)
-
Good luck with this adventure! Those Minis look splendid!

I guess those who refuse to paint eyes on a 28mm figure are going to balk at the bumhole on a monkey tattoo, as well. ;)
When you've painted a monkey's arse on a big German you'll never again need to prove you're courage lol

Excellent stuff.......

Woo, finally ordered the Prof figure, oh and Grimm's little lead avatar too. A salty fisherman?

Forgot to say, having a pic of the back of the figure is great, especially for something like this where you never know whats going to be there.

Clock is ticking, Alex.
I'll being asking my post women tomorrow if my package has come yet. :o

-
Just placed my first order... which had to include the Grimm miniature! :D
Best wishes for the new venture Alex! I'm sure I will be a repeat customer! :-*
I would love to see mutated animals and monsters and maybe some rad zombies for the post apoc
range. I think Ratnik already had some rad zombies if I remember correctly?
Can't wait to see the video of Grimm making terrain and also what you have in store for us in the future!
Darkoath

Congratulations! The store looks great. I am very excited about the post apoc lead.
I know larger pics are forthcoming, could also do a comparison shot with Copplestone and other future wars type miniatures?
Welcome edition to the world of miniatures.
-
They work together very well.
Will do some better pics but just for the moment an old shot from my mobile phone of the resin masters compared to Copplestone stuff, placed on the WIP Grimm’s table :)

Congrats and great stuff, will be making a purchae or six in the future :)
-
Well done Prof. :D
Now I just have to work on my justification patter: "Yes, dearest, I really do need these figures because otherwise I won't have them." No that's not going to work. Hmm.....
-
I've read over your entertaining introductory page on your website, and I also saw your TMP news item. I am interested in the fact that you use the plural we in the description of your company, and provide your and Igor's full names. However, your partner is, mysteriously, just "Michael". I'm interested; do we know this Michael guy? :)
-
Michael doesn't like the spotlight and prefer if me's standing there and roaring :D

My deepest respect and a load of congratulations to you, Sir. I just read the news in my E-mails and checked here. Too late to be the first in line to cheer, but not too late to catch up and follow, I think. Well done, Alex!
-
The miniatures, especially the Victorian Steam-Punk Folk, are BEAUTIFUL, WELL CRAFTED, & HIGHLY IMAGINATIVE! I wish you success with your venture. Given the opportunity I'd LOVE to acquire some of your creations. :o
I share the views you expressed in your e-mail on the principles of the Fellowship of Lead Adventurers. My brief stay among the Forum Folks has been most enjoyable.
-
Any Christmas Cash I receive this year will promptly be spent on your fine looking products.
Good Luck on your new adventure!
-
Well I have been to your site & am looking forward to ordering some of your figures. I just spotted this thread here tough. I have been wanting the Prof. for quite a while now, so it looks like I am going to have to order one soon.
-
Best Luck Prof.!
I will try to pass an order soon!
-
Congratulations, at last the Ratnik miniatures are readily available, ordered the Post Apoc figs last night, will be ordering VSF sometime next year.
-
Excellent news Alex. Excellent move and very nice site. I ordered half of the catalogue a few days ago (and would hve bought nearly everything if i hadn't just put an order one of those christmas offers you wait for all year long (about figs you know you need to get but keep postponing buying).
The thing I most appreciate with the catalog is the choice of lines of exceptionnal quality and hard to get.
Think about siberia miniatures?
Well, an excellent launch.
Congrats
-
thanks lads, many thanks, it does very good to read all the nice comments and it's a great motivation to keep it up :)
-
some lovely bits there. ratnik in particular bring on the new year ;)
-
A quick question:
Do you or Igor plan to release a suitable set of Driver/passenger figures for the PA range as these would be really usefull for converting models adding crew to toys, I already have plans for converting one of Antenociti's GOT Novo-Rus 4x4 jeeps, along with a HLBS BTR-70

Greets and good luck for your Shop!
-
Sadly still waiting on my order placed 10 days ago but I guess that is the post office's fault.

Sorry if I gave the impression that I am blaming you, I am blaming weather/postal service/christmas deliveries, sometimes a package will take a long time, next time it might be me that has it in three days. :)

A belated congrats Prof (got a few weeks of catching up to do). Good to see the VSF/Steampunk figs in lead, my clumsiness has aleady broken a resin figure. An order will be in next payday.
-
This has probably been asked before , but its quite a long post now. I will definately be after all the Steampunk range, will you be producing all the range and if so what time scale do you envisage? Just wondering whether to hang on or not before I order some
Ohh b***ocks , dont bother replying Im going to order the first lot anyway :D
-
We will release other four Steam-Punk figures coming weekend. So maybe it makes sense to wait 2 days till coming sunday :)
The rest of the range and new ones will come first in the New Year.
-
Too late, I've ordered. Just can't wait to get my hands on them , if the order can be held back then please do, if not don't worry I'll put another order in the New Year.
Rgds John
-
No problem, we will hold back the order.
-
thank you! sorry but not in the next time

Woo-hoo! My Ratnik Stalker figures arrived today, Beautiful models, requiring very little cleaning despite some very deep undercuts (an indication of their resin origins). Will be putting allother projects on hold while I paint these up.

fully lead or some kind of pewter/whitemetal?

yeah that one
-
fully lead or some kind of pewter/whitemetal?
sorry, didn't understand that you wanted to know if the minis contain lead. If i say "from lead", I mean they're metal and not plastic. Actually, to be precise, our minis are made from a high quality white metal alloy containing very little part of lead or quite without lead.
-
ok
thanks
-
Picked my new toys up from the PO today - great job. Thanks Prof.
-
Alex, are you going to focus on Steam Punk, VSF and Fallout or are you going to branch into Chtulu and Pulp to?
-
Peder, actually we’re going to focus only on Fallout at the moment. Steam-Punk (or Pirates) is just a Ratnik range that we manufacture and sell, all the ideas and packs there are from Igor.
For Post-Apoc range, after releasing of some Ratnik stuff, we will release next year a lot of our own stuff. For this we’re still designing new gangs and characters. So 2011 will be a "contaminated" year.
First we’ve translated all our PA ideas into lead, we would start to think about new ranges. I’m absolutely sure that one day we will go to branch into our beloved Pulp Adventure / Cthulhu but I’m not able to say when it’s going to happen.
-
Alex, you Guys have any Plans for PA Minis with Melee/Close Combat Weapons?

yes, that's what I'm afraid of :D

When you say 'Fallout' do you mean a 'retro-future' range somewhat comparable with AC57 or something else entirely?

Alex, not sure if its just me, but logged on to LAM site and get a Turkish site up with lots of pops ups blocked by my filter.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to LAM, Alex and Michael for my recently delivered selection of Ratnik Post Apocalyptic goodness!
Ordered all the first release, and when they arrived I had a duplicate pack instead of the Tunnel Cutthroats. Michael responded very quickly and sent out the missing pack. He even let me keep the duplicate pack after I offered to return it! What a gent! And he let me order the Zone Dogs pack with free shipping. Star.
And they arrived today. Yay!
I can only commend LAM for their brilliant customer service, great products and long may they enjoy a successful venture!
-
More time goes by, more I find figurines lead-adventure magnificent. ;D
I am certainly going to buy it.
-
Hey - 1957 was a GREAT year!

Is there a U.S. distributor as yet?

We're working at it.

Fantastic miniatures, CONGRATULATIONS! :-*
Wish you all the best!
-
These are some fantastic scullps. They will certainly be on my shopping list for the summer. I can't wait to try my painting skill on these.
-
Right now I have discovered your range of miniatures and I am very excited because, at last, I have found the range of models I was looking for!!! They are wonderful models, and the subject is very interesting for me (specially after my reading of "Metro 2033"). Besides, I am reading the "Triumph & Tragedy" rulebook (I bought it for my "El Álamo" project) and I think it can be useful for a post-apocaliptic game; it is a great, great rulebook.
Well, I´m going to buy some of your models right now.
Cheers,
Juan

If LAM is focussing on post-apocalyptic miniatures, I wish LAM would produce some stuff for Xenozoic Tales, aka Cadillacs & Dinosaurs. I've been looking for miniatures that could be used for Jack Tenrec and Hannah Dundee with no luck so far.
