Latest news for the next instalment of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, The Black Dossier, report that the book will only be released in the USA due to dubious IP reasons!
http://www.comp.dit.ie/dgordon/League/loeg0023.html
Shame on the publishers! Shame on the IP-hype! Where will all this end up to? Next time I'll loose my board name because somebody revises the IP for Treasure Island?
I need to get this book when it will be released, so maybe somebody from across the ocean will privately send me one?
Thanks in advance ...

I also need it!
I think we'll be sacking amazon.com
-
Boooh! *catcalls* *whistle*
-
did you try to use proxies anonymisers ?
it's a system that make the request with another IP.
I don't have a site on mind but just look on google and you will find one.

Itīs not about "Internet Protocol" adresses, but "Intellectual Property" issues, namely that various characters in the book are not yet in the public domain outside of the U.S....
EDIT: Oh, and itīs a shame. And it reminds me to call back my issue of the first LoEG collection.

Just get it from Amazon.com. Problem sloved!
I pre-ordered mine with them in June 2006! :)
-
I want one too! I am sure we will get hold of them somehow...
-
Gaah! I would sell my dad's third wife for this!

dont need to sell her  Just preordered it at amazon.de, will be available in November
-
Me too. Damn, thought I could get rid of the bitch...
-
I'll buy them!
-
Sure on this? She'll be your ruin and doesn't even look good anymore these days! 8)
-
Blast. Ah well, time to use my American contacts again...(or go back and visit the Strand).
-
Well, of course I pre-ordered the book a long time ago at Amazon, but the question is, will they deliver it to Europe at all?
Anyway, I'll get the book somehow ...
-
Got a mail from Amazon yesterday telling me that my pre-ordered Black Dossier will not be available at all! My order is cancelled. :x
Would anybody be able to get it directly from the US, or would anybody there send it to me? Will pay through PayPal.
Thanks,
-
Funny, Amazon.com (USA) just prepares mine for shipping to germany.
-
Got mine from a comic shop in Carlisle, England at the weekend, just sat there on the rack as I went in.
Good old Tommy, he knows what his customers want, and had specially ordered half a dozen from the States. Of course, it cost me twenty five quid, but hell, it's worth it.

Anyone read this yet? Maybe it was because I'd lost my glasses and was squinting at the pages with only one eye, but I found the last part utterly confusing and more or less unrelated to the beginning and middle bits. What do you think?
-
No spoilers!

I followed it fine, ta. You do have to pay attention earlier in the book though, as lots of things alluded to are expanded upon. I say "fine", I did read it twice.
Moore does like his mystical majickal mummery too.
No spoilers there Hammers, it's just what youd expect. Anyway, do you really think you'll have time to read it with a new baby in the house?
-
It's a nice way to check in on some of the characters, but I didn't enjoy it near as much as parts One and Two. (It WAS infinitively superior to the dreadful LXG film, thank the 'Maker)
There seemed to be a hint of another being released that would cover the years between 'Two, and Black Dossier, so don't give up hope!

Oh, the book is not for me, I assure you. I bought it for Fiver, son of hammershield. Just like the new carbon fiber fishing rod with ABU Cardinal reel, size 9 Lundhags alpine trekking boots and a mixed bag of miniatures from RAFM. All for him! I am just checking that they suit him first.

Got mine from Amazon US yesterday without any problems. it's been part f a 4-book-order with USD 5 freight for each book, which seems fair as they came separately.
-
Thanks for the tip, Poli. I ordered the book right the other day from Amazon.com together with another book, and both are on their way to me now.
Postage costs were indeed very reasonable for a delivery from the US. So hopefully the book will be with me very soon.
Thanks,
-
I picked one up from ebay uk after reading the first few posts on this thread.
Read it - didn't like it and sold it within minutes when I relisted it back on evilbay for what I paid for it (Ģ20)
I will not expand in due respect for the no spoilers requests

Got mine yesterday and I love it eventhough I am only one third through. A somewhat demanding read however, even more obscure references to British litterature than in the ofirst two books.
