Here is a building I've been working on, now finally finished

The flag is detachable and I have a few to change between but it works well without too. Sorry for the bad photos...
-
Looks good I like it. The playing cards are ace.
-
Love it Anpu.
Cards are a brilliant touch - may have to steal your idea.
clanmac
-
Yes, the cards and the flag are a nice touch. :)
-
Nice, detailed, and simple. I agree. It's an ace piece. My favorite is the incorporation of the van into the tower.
Joey
-
Nice Buliding. Detailing is great. I like the cracked windows of the bus.
-
That looks great, Anpu!
-
:o :-* ;D
-
is that ncr flag hand painted or a print out?
I love the van turned watch tower. very cool and full of character.
-
Thanks for all the comments. Both the flag and the cards are printed. I have also got a lot of fallout 3 and New Vegas posters and a lot of others I feel will fit into the setting for future buildings and terrain. The cracked windows were made by draging the scalpel against the plastic windows.
-
That's great!
-
i love it! the bus wreck is soo fallouty.
-
The bus wreck is perfect!
-
Love it! Those playing cards are amazing!
-
looks great. The repurposing of vehicles to buildings and such is exactly what would happen. Imagine the kinda make shift towns that would start in one of the wholesale distribution centers we have all over the states.
Big metal shipping containers are a ready made house.
-
Life in the vault is about to change. Here are some WIP shots of my vault entrance. Door and base doorframe are courtesy of VitruvianZeke.

Detailed with plasticard and Hirst art pieces.
I will be building a vault with hirst arts pieces during the spring, hopefully finished before summer.

Great vault entrance/door. I look forward to seeing more.
-
all so very cool love what you are doing here
excellent
dodge
-
I'm loving that!
-
looking forward to his one. Using Hirst Arts is definatelythe way to go.
-
Now that is cool. I'm really looking forward to more.
-
Looks great so far.
<edit>
I re-read your post about where the door came from. My apologies.
Keep us posted on your progress.
-
As you edited your post before I read it I have no idea of why you are apologizing. :)
The door is as said earlier made by VitruvianZeke of the Hirst Arts forums from an old Fischer-Price toy cog. He kindly donated a second cast he had to my vault project. His Vault creations can be seen here http://www.vitruvianzeke.com/coppermine/index.php (http://www.vitruvianzeke.com/coppermine/index.php)
The layout of the first room is just about finished. I am thinking of making a Fallout 1/2 style version as well with a corridor as a start but we will see.
Looks great so far.
<edit>
I re-read your post about where the door came from. My apologies.
Keep us posted on your progress.
-
WOW! thats impressive!
-
Here is the layout of the entrance room. Now it needs to be basepainted before I can add walls.
I might do a corridor more in style with Fallout 1 and 2 later.
-
This is coming along nicely. Are you planning a shiney vault in good condition or a abandoned wreck?
-
Again, please keep us posted.
I originally asked where you got the door from, then I re-read your post and realized you had already posted that. Oops.
I am curious if you know what toy the cog came from?
-
This is coming along nicely. Are you planning a shiney vault in good condition or a abandoned wreck?
I am planning something in between I think a rundown but still inhabited or recently inhabited vault. Then I will probably make ruind pieces to swap with as a go along.
Again, please keep us posted.
I am curious if you know what toy the cog came from?
No idea what toy exactly only the brand.
I will keep you posted of the progress, it might be slow as there are a lot of pieces to cast and paint and having a daughter that is one and a half takes a lot of time from casting and painting ;)
-
Here is the first room completed, the entrance door needs a bit more work

Will update with more pictures when the door is finished and hopefully a few corridors and rooms.
-
:-*
-
Great stuff!!!!!
-
wow :-*
-
Beautiful, absolutely beautiful.
I am so jealous of the vault door, I practically want to come steal it.
:-*
And what you are doing for an underground is spectacular. Hat's off to you, man.
-
Very very nice! Its looking good, keep it coming!
-
Small uppdate entrance finished, just need to get the door done, but need to get a vault number on to it before that.

-
Fantastic. I love that vault door more and more.
-
:o
Well, I'm totally jealous, i've been wanting something like that since 1997 :'(
looks amazing!
-
that vault is great , real talent :-*
-
I wanna come and play!!!! :D
-
nothing to say.
except for OMGLOL lol
-
Loving your stuff. Would love to see a better shot of your Mr. Handy. What other figures do you have planned? How far in/out do you expect to take it? You know, if you wanted to be REALLY crazy you could always build it "underground". Put a roof on it with an access tunnle heading down, and just take the roof off when inside. Just my crazy 2 cents.
-
Here are a few more shots of the Mr. Handy/Gutsy
(http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u150/Horakte/041.jpg)
As for other figures I am planning to have Vaultdwellers and security, more robots I have a converted protectron
(http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u150/Horakte/019.jpg)
and 2 securitrons as well as other robots mostly from hydra miniatures. Supermutants and a behemoth, Brotherhood of steel and the Enclave
Raiders, most notably the Khans, wastelanders, tribals and ghouls and mutated critters. I'll see if can get some decent photos of the ones i've already got.
I have also started on a few corridors and rooms and will update with WIP pictures later today or tomorrow
-
Mmm.. delicious!
-
WIP of a few corridors
(http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u150/Horakte/vault003-1.jpg)

Tha walls need to be done and then I need to paint floors and walls separately before assembly.
-
Very cool, been playing New Vegas recently, and I have to say, if they do an expansion, that Watchtower with the camper van should make a show as an NCR base! Perhaps you should email them a pic with your scenery bits just to see if it inspires them?
I bet they'd certainly appreciate a fans work!
Very cool though, and the Vault is superb, it has the qualities a Vault entrance should have I.E when your on the outside, you wonder whats happened to the occupants, and how to get in to steal all the technology down below.
And when your inside, if your like me and was very green to fall out having only played Fall out 3 (never played the previous versions) The first thing that gets you absorbed into the game is when the vault door opens and you have no idea whats coming for you on the other side!
-
A few more pieces for the world outside the vault.
-
Another update to the vault.

The holes will get fans installed and will be covered with a grate or be replaced by robot service stations where the robotic guardians await intruders.
-
We really need to get together with our stuff! :-)
-
We really need to get together with our stuff! :-)
Yes we should indeed :)
Do you happen to have some castings over from the smaller of the pipe molds?
-
OWEEE, Ace work!
-
Fantastic! :-*
-
Lovely stuff. What is process for making the walls? I assume you are mixing and matching various sets. The floors and the industrial border and pretty easy, but I can quite match up the walls pieces. Care to share?
Joey

These are the molds I am using for this build at the moment:
(http://www.hirstarts.com/molds/327.jpg) And perhaps pieces from a few more.
To make a wall I usually glue two pieces back to back to get 0.5 inch thickness or use one of the thicker pieces and glue them together in the order I want for my wall.
-
Which ones are 280 (basic concrete). I'm looking at that one, but haven't seen it in real life. I love what you got. I'm just waiting for my tax return to start my next project.
-

The floor pieces in the entrance hall and outside the vault door are from mold 280

I love the car in the toxic waste! What did you use for the green liquid?
-
I love the car in the toxic waste! What did you use for the green liquid?
The toxic waste is a homage to Fallout 1 and 2 which featured bright green pools of toxic waste. :D First I painted the bottom of the pool in a variety of light greens and glazed it with Vallejo transparent green then I added Vallejo still water for the liquid effect. Some of the transparent green was still wet so i swirled it a little to spread it in the water.
-
An update tomorrow, you say? Why, that's excellent!
-
I'll do my best, but I won't promise anything... ;)
-
The toxic goop puddle is just swell. Always glad to see others who appreciate the originals. :)
-
A few more pieces for the world outside the vault.

A 'how-to' on that puddle would be great!

Will try to write one up shortly.
Meanwhile a few more WIP shots of things to come.

Nice find with those cars!
-
Where did you find the bus? I must get one!
-
I bought the bus at a bi annual market which has closed for this time I am afraid. I is new production made in china, a big "S" as a logo on the bottom 1/50 scale if that is any help. I can keep my eyes open to see if I find more. I payed about $10.50 for it.

A view of the robot service stations
(http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u150/Horakte/Vault012-1.jpg)
An overlook of the current state of the build, as it is modular it can offcourse be assembled in many diffrent ways though
(http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u150/Horakte/Vault017-1.jpg)
How to make the green toxic goo puddle
First glue sand to form the outline of the puddle, paint it in your choice of earth colour. First I gave the goo area a layer of PP Wurm Green, Then I started to mix in Vallejo game colour Livery green (GW bilious green I think) After that I gave it a coat of Vallejo transparent green and when it was almost dry I added Vallejo Stillwater swirled it around untill it covered all the areas I wanted and let it dry. (actually I was inpatient so I put it in the oven at 80 degrees C untill it cleared up ca 1-2 hours in a hot air oven).
-
Great!!
-
wow the vault is great. I must invest in some of those moulds one day.

Here is a building I've been working on, now finally finished

The flag is detachable and I have a few to change between but it works well without too. Sorry for the bad photos...
Hmmm. That's what I should do with one of the trashed toy school buses I have...
-
Looks great - I can see the Fiends leaping out in ambush!!
-
Sorry for not updating this for a long time. I have been working in another city and commuting every weekend back and forth 500km by bus so I have not been able to do much, but a few things are in the pipline like a few plasticville buildings and a lot of minis starting with the supermutants.
Supermutants from the LPL5.
An abandoned schoolhouse doubling for pulp and call of cthulhu as well.

I have a factory, a hospital and a barn coming up for external scenery. The vault will continue to grow but will have to wait a bit at the moment.
-
:-*
Nice paintjob.
I've got the barn, a ranch and the tv-station waiting for processing.
I've been looking into buying some more models but P&P from the states to europe are a killer for my wallet and lately customs seem to intercept almost every package me and the members from our wargameclub order there. :'(
(only 2 months ago a friend had to cough up €97 for a €140 order from GMT games) :o
-
I've totally missed this thread, Anpu :O
Cracking stuff, can't wait for more! :)

Another vehicle ( a BMW Isetta in 1:43) for for the fallout collection in the paintingline, with a vaultdweller for scale.

Nice stairs. Where are they from?
They are called Tech deck skatepark, a sort of finger skateboard terrain from a toyshop. The stairs also break down into sections so it is easy to transport. It was on sale so I couldn't help myself :o ;)
-
Good find Anpu!
-
Absolutely love the ghoul in black - is that a copplestone figure with a head swap? Great idea! The new terrain looks like a good find: I actually remember one of my friends learning tricks on the mini skateboard things in school... this seems like a much better use for it lol
Your whole project is really inspiring - thanks a lot for sharing, and I hope you don't mind a few borrowed ideas ;)

Thanky for your comments.
The magazines are printed pictures found on the net, then I cut out several pieces of paper of the same size and glue them together at the spine end, then I paint the spine and back in an appropriate colour.
-
Nice all around. :-*
I especially like the book idea.
-
You bought those enclave troopers then? Liked them but a looked little too static in the shop pics I thought, how posable are they?
The Commander

I can answer that for you Commander. Not very posable, but they are damn nice models

Yes a little too static, but very nice, not all that posable without larger conversions.

This is some really cool stuff and It makes me wanna game fallout. In my opinion if Brother Vinni put out some more mini's like the brotherhood of steel with interchangeable weapons etc he'd be the top dog in Fallout mini's if he isnt already but I know nothing of sculpting or casting so eh.

I have more components for the room/rooms, basing it around 3X3 pieces, inspired by Willypold's spacehulk build.
I have 2 more 3X3 pieces and am in the proces of making more walls etc. these can then be assembled into smaller rooms or a few larger ones.

Hmmm The G.E.C.K in true 3D. It is some really nice stuff you´ve got. Keep it up.

I have started painting, and will build a few more things, but the next update may take some time as we will be renovating our kitchen the coming two weeks.

Just leave it alone for about two-hundred and forty years. You'll find that it 'renovates' itself.

Everything in this blog is awesome. The Vault door is probably my favorite piece. Very inspired to start my own Fallout figures now!
One question that I didn't see had been answered: Where are you getting the clear bases from? Those are the perfect basing material in my opinion.
Good stuff here. Looking forward to seeing more.
~Eric
-
The bases are from Fenris games. I prefer the clear bases for scifi projects. :)
Thank you for the positive comments. The Vault door was made by VitruvianZeke of the Hirstarts forum.
-
Oh Yeah! This was hell of a source of inspiration! I'll have to take a look though all of it! Really love the vintage feel, cool tile system rooms as well! Now I have som nice reading to night :)

One of the greates Protectron models I've seen so far!
Centaur looks great too, but if I'm not wrong the scale is a bit off. I remember them being smaller? Or is that just because they were just so easy to kill?

This is the single most awesome terrain I have ever seen for post-apoc. Wow.
What rules are you using in the "in-game" pictures? Fallout Warfare or Wastelands 3 or something?

Thank you!
I have been using a modded variant of the Legends of the old West, but I will be using Pulp Alley this year.

awesome stuff.

The shanties are all fom pardulon, the only papercraft is the containers.
Do you have a link to you paper terrain?
Always nice to see more stuff.

Good looking table and miniatures.
brahmin is definitely best of the bunch. :)
-
I am considering making some shanties out of thick plasticard, using delaminated corrugated cardboard for roofs, but Pauldron is making me rethink that...it's a bit expensive for those of us in the US but man, does it look great.

Some of the roofs did look like they were made of lots of flat surfaces, rather than actually corrugated resin/metal pieces.

I was thinking the same thing :D
Should fit nicely with the Ichabod Crane
Splendid stuff BTW. Really like the tug boat and the Nuka-cola machine (got one on the resin pile somewhere)
That buggy is one mean machine, although not really FO to me.

I agree it is not strictly fallout, and I will see if it makes the cut or not when the other vehicle are finished.

But that Brahmin trailer is a fantastic wasteland 'bodge'! :-* Nicely played. It could be a little heavy for 1 brahmin, maybe a brahmin team would be better off for all that steel? Im my trip through FO3 I continued to expect finding a drivable car or bike in the 'next' mission. I walked up and examined every auto and bike I found. I was disappointed when it never happened. :( All those rusty autos and not one workable, or salvageable, unit :( They can repair a huge robot, they can create vertibirds and power armour, but not a wheeled vehicle? Its madness I tell you!

Another ship for the harbor board, this one frome scalescenes, a papercraft one.
It is still in need of a few minor details and weathering.

You show off! :-*

:-* :-* :-*
She is a beauty! That is rather impressive and looks good printed out. Painting up the weathering and detail will certainly pull it all together.
-
Some top notch papermodelling skills, there.
:-*
-
She's impressive, we done.
-
Nice work. I like those wagons.
-
Yep agreed, that is a nicely done paper model.

I will be using Pulp Alley for my Fallout game this year
The first two league rosters for the convention:
All characters in all leagues have been given an extra ability of their level for extra flavor.
The Little Grey Men

More leagues and more terrain to follow.
-
Where are the Bloatflies from, old chap? I missed them the first time you posted them, and they are perfect...
-
They are also from Armorcast.
-
The first board is just about finished. The layout is not final and detials and some weathering to do.

Stunning work, Anders!
How many players/sides are you planning to have?
HAVE FUN
-
Four to six I think, if I have six players I will add another two 2x2 board pieces.

Yup, that sounds like a good idea. Mila and I wish we could be there! :D

Looks bloody fine, laddie. Well done! Wish I could come play in a Fallout game that I was not running...
-
Thank you! I wish you could be there as well.
Here are a few more pictures.
The crane weathered and ready for play.

Very nice. The colours are great.
One question for me; in the third last photo (the bikie group) who makes the first and last miniature? I got those 15-20 years ago and don't know the manufacturer.
-
They are old grenadier models now available from Em4.
-
Tanks!
-
Great miniatures!
When will you have your game!

Thanks!
Next weekend in Gothenburg. http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=55806.0 (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=55806.0)
I'll get in the car early for the drive down there friday morning so time is getting short to fix the last stuff.

Overwhelming amount of beautiful game tables and minis in one place. :-*
The port and the vault is especially nice to look at
-
:-* :-* :-* :-*
That's impressive! Looks like a fun couple of days.
-
Beautiful terrain and miniatures in those sets - thanks for sharing.
-
Awesome pictures, looks like you had a blast! Really liked the vault terrain.
-
Most impressive sir!
What an enjoyable series of photos!
-
Thank you all for the comments. I will see about getting the pictures arranged into battle reports, but I am really bad at doing those so I won't promise anything.
Pulp Alley worked a treat to portray the fallout world as well.
-
Seeing all this in real life was really impressive at Gubbspel Galore IV.
Nice to meet you Anpu.
-
Impressive boards! A treat to look at. :-* It's given me a few ideas. Looks like there was lots of action in the games.
Did you play Pulp Alley straight from the rulebook or tweaked it a bit? Curious.
-
Dave recommended that I added an extra ability for all characters for flavor, and I used some playtest abilities otherwise straight from the rulebooks.
-
This is awesome. :o A pretty inspiring collection of different themed tables. My jaw just dropped to the floor. :o :-* :o
Would you mind to share where the dockside crane is from?
-
@Arcturus I believe it is from Fenris Games
http://www.fenrisgames.com/shop.html#!/~/product/id=22094609
Thanks Anpu. Will keep that in mind.
-
Thanks Braz. They have some nice pieces there.
-
Thanks for all the comments!
Yes the crane is from Fenris games as well as the drilling rig and the oil pump.
@Engel

Nice to meet you Anpu.
Your table was quite impressive to and I regret not getting to play your game. Nice to meet you as well.
-
It's all lovely, but it's making me want to continue Project Radglow..
(I take a load of LEDs painted green and use them to represent radiated areas.. wherever the light falls is radiated!)
-
I drool a little every time I pop in this thread. Well done, mate. Incredible stuff.
-
Fantastic tables, a lot of work there, and it's more than paid off in the results.
Off to have another look at the eye candy....
-
WOW! It all looks amazing, Anders! :-* :-*
I'm happy the Pulp Alley rules fit your Fallout setting so well.
You did a great job creating all the characters. Each league has lots of personality. And thanks for testing a few of the new abilities.
HAVE FUN
-
I drool a little every time I pop in this thread. Well done, mate. Incredible stuff.
Only a little ? I need to mop up every time ;)
-
This thread just keeps on giving! I love that dock set-up especially. This has given me yet another kick up the backside to crack on with my Fallout project.
-
Stunning!
:o
You boys have some great toys.
:-* :-*
-
Boy you really have great tables. WOW :o
Kudos for that.
-
That dockside crane looks awesome! Very tempting.... damn it!
-
Man! Your tables are amazing! I can't say how excited and happy I was to see my Nuka Cola machine on your table!
-
Thank you for your comments everyone, a special thanks to d phipps for a great system and support throughout.
All the feedback from everyone is very welcome and makes it a lot easier to continue with this project :)
Man! Your tables are amazing! I can't say how excited and happy I was to see my Nuka Cola machine on your table!
Thanks I have one more and a Sunset machine on the painting table.
-
How do you like them? I didn't build them 100% like the in-game objects, but I tried to get really close, considering molding/casting issues ;)
-
They are good representations of the in-game machines :D. It would be fun with a hollow/clear version that could be used with LEDs, flickering or steady :)
-
Thanks! You have some nice scatter accessories! Impressive collection! What have you looked for, but couldn't find in the scale?
-
Nice, very good post :-* :-*

Thanks! You have some nice scatter accessories! Impressive collection! What have you looked for, but couldn't find in the scale?
Sorry for not answering you yet, still thinking about it, although I am suffering from a slight Fallout burnout after the convention buildup...
Nice, very good post :-* :-*
Thanks!

Awaiting this thing for my next board...
(http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/Mjc5WDQ1MA==/z/vLQAAOxyVaBS2ALP/$_12.JPG)
It should arrive any day now...
-
:o that's big! The plane could be the board!! ;)
-
yup I think it is about two feet by three feet in dimensions so it will cover just about the entire board. ;D
-
Wicked.
I assume it's the Revell 1/48 kit?
I managed to get hold of all the bombs from that kit so I could create an unexploded Fat Man.
-
Yes it's the revell one. Arrived friday...
Now for some pictures.
First...

Very cool, first one I see in paint :)

Sorry for dragging this old topic back into the light. Since Fury Road and the announcement of Fallout 4 I have been drawn back into the post-apocalypse again.
I have been digging myself deep into hobby projects since my father passed away last monday after a years battle against a terminal cancer so I now have some bits and pieces to show again. Most are WIPand there will be more coming hopefully.
The Mad Max Bits will be lin a New thread though even if the projects overlap to a great degree.
Two deathclaws shown previously, now accompanied by their ofspring. (All by Messyart)

One hell of a collection man!
Could I see the two styles of deathclaw side by side? It's Vinnis there isn't it?
(Not tickling ego! ;D )
-
Will try to get you a pic. They are there side by side but I guess you want a larger picture right ;)
-
Exactly. I need to decide whether or not to bother going all out and texturing every inch of skin and/ or redoing it to resemble the newer members of the 'claw family
Generally I just love the beasts design and wanna see how you've painted them! :D
-
Great collection indeed.
(still jealous of those ants. Been scrounging a couple of local stores during the Halloween period, but came up empty handed: nothing, zip, nada, bupkis. :'()
-
Those are awesome! I need to place my order to Messy yesterday, but real life keeps throwing bills at my bank account. :?
-
Very nice collection! The magazines look great as well. Will you weathering them a bit?
-
Thank you for, "dredging this up". If you hadn't I probably wouldn't have got see see your thread :) . Wonderful stuff.

Thanks for all the comments!
Deathclaws side by side.

Regarding the magazines I will aplly some weathering powder.
I only have an inkjet printer so no coffee baths at the moment. I probably will do one more set with wear and tear.
The ants are white metal minis from Khurasan miniatures.

I totally forgot about those minis, good find there ...I won't question who thought one would be passable as a human by sticking a wig on it though. XD
-
Perhaps it was envious... ;)
Put on a trenchcoat or similar and pass for human at a distance.

Thanks! These are great! Immediately know how I am going to use some of those poster signs... :-*
-
I hope it's not rude to post pictures in your thread ... ;D ... but I had to share this awesome billboard I made with your posters! This is going to go outside my plasticville gas station. Also helped me decide on a color scheme to paint the gas station (yellow and red).

Very cool stuff. The whole Mentats, Abraxo Job is still in front of me. What you used for the core of the packages? Thicker paperboard?
The Billboards are really cool. Are that the one from Knights of Dice?
-
Love the billboards, they look great.
-
Those Billboards look brilliant and making them interchangeable is even better! Thanks for the wonderful eye candy and some sly ideas for keeping the look of the scenery fresh.
-
Thank you all for the comments!

The Billboards are from Knight models Batman line.
For the menats and abraxo I glued the printed paper to some card and then just cut them out.
Maybe I will paint the edges and the back later on, we'll see.

-
Yes indeed it is a Pulp alley miniature.
-
Very cool
-
Hahaha lol lol
Red Ray tickles my humour.
Nice additions. Strangely I could imagine meeting any of those figures in the fallout universe no worries. Inc red Ray.

Long time since the last update, we have moved to a house and I am slowly settling in my new hobbyroom (still chaos and much stuff in boxes).
I got my self a 3d Printer for christmas and have been trying out a few things for my fallout boards.
Still rough and needs some care before painting...

I'm stealing your High-Tension-Wire/Fort idea.
This is great stuff. I wish I could duplicate the books and magazines in 15mm...well, I could but they'd be too small to read. My gaming group is getting old and our collective eyesight couldn't appreciate that level of detail.
Very cool, man. Great job on everything.

Very nice. Can't wait to see it all weathered and old looking.

I have been collecting courage to finally get my supermarket glued together and painted. But I have been putting it off partially because it is such a big job and partially because I don't really know where to put it once done..
But seeing yours makes me want to have my own done up also.

Hooks on the bottom, allowing you to hang it on the wall as a piece of modern art ;)

Thanks everyone!

Beautiful work.
Have you glued in all the internal parts or have you kept them movable?
-
All internal parts are movable. I am tempted to mak a few rubbish/screp templates to make it even more cluttered. I also need to make a few strips of random leftover goods for the larger shelves.
-
Very nice weathering. Might I suggest a few bottles on the ground too?
-
Yes bottles and cans are planned if time permitts. I started with the flat stuff since it won't be in the way for the shelves etc.
-
Fantastic stuff! Who makes the Red Ray miniature?
-
Red Ray was part of a frothers charity sculpting competition. Sculpted by Andrew Rae of Statuesque miniatures. No idea if it is in production.
-
Incredibly good - I loved the garbage bags in particular, and the scatter of leaflets. Oh, and the cat :D
-
This is an awesome piece of scenery. Great job.

I bow down before your 3D mastery - these are just ace!
-
I wish there was any skill involved. The files are extracted from the game and resized. A few of them have adjustments to make them more printable.
-
How much are the lurks costing to print out? Not asking to buy, just curious as to how much per mini. 3D printing is something I may explore oneday myself.
And how much cleaning work is needed?
-
Marvellous - this thread just gets better and better!
-
Thanks for the comments!
The cost in materials is low. Time is the greater cost I would say.
As for clean-up I would say 20-30 minutes per model to remove the support material etc. The mirelurks are printed at 60 microns layerheight. I have yet to try the smallest nozzle which can get the layerheight down to 20 microns. This would increase printingtime considerably though.
-
That crab in the vehicle is just too cool.
-
Where is the Deathclaw from? Is that a print from the game also? It looks great. You have done an amazing job with these!
I'm also assuming you mean microns (micrometres) rather than nanometres?
-
It is a print from the game. Yes I mean microns to tired I guess.
-
Awesome models. Loving the hermit crab in the van. Is that in the game somewhere? Might be time to head back into the wastes I think!
-
Some nice stuff going on here! Sorry if I missed this info, the Super Duper Mart, is that scratch built or the one from Sarissa?
Cheers

Have you tried printing any human characters from the game yet?
-
Have you tried printing any human characters from the game yet?
I tried printing a supermutant with so-so results due to supports.
I have yet to try out the smallest nozzle and the finest setting of 20 microns but it will be a tradeoff against time for the prints.

Wow, that looks great. Very jealous.

With your and Delta's output it becomes quite obvious that every Fallout tabletop enthusiast ought to have a 3d printer.
This is just too darn cool! :o
-
Jepp it reminds me to get my ass up and Do some more progress! Very nice progress Anders. If you want some Tipps how to smooth the upper Roofrail with less effort just let me know. Its quite easy to get the Details to the print

Pretty cool buildings. What's the footprint size?
-
The refueling station is 120mm x 260 mm without the roof. The garage is 150 mm x 230mm without roof. Both roofs are removable.
-
Cool. They certainly look larger than that in the pics. Can you get a decent ammount of figures in there?
-
Yes. I will try to get a few pictures during the weekend. Working on a diner as well.

Sorry for being tardy but here are pictures of the buildings without interior furniture.

-
Just about right scale wise I'd say. Sorry if I missed it earlier in the thread, but how much modding do you need to do to the files to get them to slice after you rip them?
-
Some of the files have to be put through a repair program like makeprintable or the like. Others print just fine. It is especially the ones with thin surfaces that need to be prepared for printing. Otherwise it is mostly resizing.

Well I think all walker-bys and dice rolling punters will be happy to play on that mate! 8)
I think I prefer the recast cars of the future to the 3D printed fallout vehicles. The rough surface of the prints puts me off a little TBH. What a wonderful world you are creating though mate. The 3D prints seem to work a little better for the scenery terrain, buildings and signs where the surfaces are easier to sand smooth without loosing details.
Cheers

The bus is rougher than usual I think, there is a lot of underextrusion so I have been trying to tune the printer a bit mor and done some maintenance. Otherwise it depends on what time you want the prints to take (layer height) and the sourcefiles. Thes files were never ment to be printed to start with. But as wrecks it works for me. This one for exampla ha a much smother surface thogh the glas did not print correctly.
Still new at printing stuff though so I am learning how to get the most out of it.
For buildings and larger terrain it is great though.
-
Ah gotcha, all part of the choices. Nice to know there is some options in there and that you don't need to sand everything back completely smooth. You know more about 3D printing than me, so thanks for sharing a bit of what you know Anpu.
Keep at it mate!
Cheers
Matt

Eyecandy around here! Very nice Additions! I´m Dead jealous on the Diner! Where in the Gamefiles its to find, and how many prep-up did it need to bring it in a watertight form?

The diner is in sectionsjust print enough of each sort and then glue together. I'll check exat location tomorrow .

Wow, that is a really nice table! :-*
Great job Anpu!

Perhaps pull her apart a bit? Damage a prop or something? Looks like she's in perfect working order apart from a bit old. Parked nicely on a airstrip ready with a nuclear pay load but never given clearance for take off.
Cheers
Matt

I am abit afraid to start damaging the old bird but I guess I should at least damage a prop or something. That or put it in an airfield ready for takeoff...

Nah no need to damage it! She was just abandoned, that's all....maybe no fuel, or the pilot didn't make it back to the plane...a dozen possible reasons.

Nice Additions Anpu!
But one Question: Has it a certain reason why you have glued the right shoulderpad of the one BoS Knight the wrong direction?

Probably because I was too tired t o be allowed near minis? I must have missed that completely and not even noticed in the photo....
