Finally had a chance to upload some shots of the latest progress on the Normandy collection. Working through it fairly well at the moment. Still lots to do. First up some British and Allied bits and pieces and then some German vehicles. Next big job will be to sort out the rest of the German soft skins, lots of Hanomags and trucks to tidy up, weather and base.
A regiment of PzIIIs - mixed bag here of metal and plastic kits:

British bren gun carriers, some metal and the rest are resin:

British scout cars and forward observers:

Close up of one of the forward observer conversions, originally got this in desert sand, I've added the HAT crew men too:

Next up will be German soft skins and armoured cars, then back to the British to sort out the half tracks and so on.

Awesome!!! :-* just love massive amounts of 1/72 vehicles!!
-
Nice set of vehicles.
What rules are they for?
Sorry for being a button counter but in the first photo there appears to be move Pfz IV than Pfz III's.
-
I've used Rapid Fire, considering Flames of War, but will probably opt to use my own set which are going to published later this year.
-
Great armies! :)
-
Thanks General - the downside is I won't be the first person to play with them! Normandy 1944 is one of the periods we're putting on for the wargame holidays centre.
In a week or two I'll need to make a couple of hundred of foot of more bocage, the infantry are sorted I think.
-
Very cool!
-
I've just made a couple of buckets of flock for the bocage building session. I've still got a bg sheet of rubberised horsehair ready to cut up, dunk in wood glue, flock and hot glue gun to banks.
-
yep we are rapid fire gamers here in denmark well the people i know,20mm is the best scale ,great selection of both armies
-
That is one impressive build.

Well the Normandy collection is ready for shipping out to Crete. Just got some bocage sections to finish off. Here are some of the latest bits and pieces that have been done. There's a mix of stuff here - some were done by Tim some time ago, other bits were tidied up purchases and others started and finished from scratch.

New scratchbuilt buildings for Normandy next - I've done about a dozen new ones to add to the collection.
-
Very nice work. Are the commonwealth figures British or Canadians? ;)
-
Wow! All those massed vehicles look really impressive! :o Please post pictures of the next game you play with them. :)
Jim
-
Bezzo - I've built a 45 x 6 foot table to play on in Crete.
Calimero - a mix of Canadians and British all for the Caen area.
Hupp - will do, we play the first game with them towards the end of May, will post up shots as soon as I can.
-
I've got about 60 Shermans for the Germans to play with!
The table is 45 x 6 foot, lots of bocage to hide in. I've made all of the buildings - so there's just a few more feet of bocage to make and finishing off the 100 or so trees I've made.
The boys will get their first outing in May when the first guests arrive to play Normandy and the battle of Crete.
-
There is space for another ten foot of table.....
-
My table at home is 10 x 6 in a garage. Your table is perfectly big enough for medium sized actions, the whole point of having so many soldiers to is make full use of the massive table we've built over in Crete.
Have a look on our website for the size of the table. Do you get Battlegames? There's a good shot of a third of the table with Indian Mutiny. In the next issue of Wargames Illustrated there's a big article about the centre and the table too. The table is horseshoe shaped around a big pillar, but there's room for another ten foot one edge and about six foot at the other end. I'm thinking about changing the configuration of the table for next year to give the table more playable depth too.

:o My that is a big one. There I've said it!
