Title: Does anyone make these?
Post by: Bezzo on January 27, 2011, 04:19:24 PM
I am usually not this odd but I have an unusual request:

This may come to nothing but I have idea for a fantasy army and have some specific requirements for headdress.

Does anyone know of any maker of figs that have tortoises/turtle shells as helmets? I know I could just paint the design on cut down german coalscuttles but that would be work. I have an allergy to that.

The Forge of Ice has some.  You can see the whole catalog here: LINK (http://forum54.oli.us/index.php/topic,6610.msg53107/boardseen.html#new) (scroll down). The guy doesn't have a website, but he takes order by mail and you can pay by Paypal.

Also, Eureka Miniatures has a range of Frogmen with turtle shields, but I think you can't buy the shields separately.
