Title: Muzzle Blasts
Post by: Alfrik on February 08, 2011, 02:39:33 PM
So, during a VSF battle last week, there lumbered the mighty behemoth tanks and walkers, firing for all they were worth... and it looked.. dull. No Bang, No Flash, bah. On the to hobby table to tackle the problem of no muzzel flashes. First was the problem of how to make it removable since there would be times the big gun would not be firing. So with some this and that I made up:

That's a great idea. I'm going to have to try that on my tanks. Did you twist the skewer as you applied the hot glue?

Yes, I did twist the skewer stick into the hot glue to push the glue inside the plastic pipe piece to secure it.  The cup of cold water nearby really made the process faster to cool the glue once it was in place vs blowing on it as I slowly turned it.

The stuff seems to be designed for GW stuff, but it could be useful.

While I've been doing the muzzle flash thing with a somewhat different approach [epoxy paste & wire armature], I really like your method & the SPECTACULAR results...I'll have to give it a try. Thanks for posting.
