Title: 28mm FIW Flags
Post by: Darkoath on February 12, 2011, 08:43:45 AM
Looking for good FIW flags in 28mm...

This will be my first use of printed flags in 28mm and would like the best I can get...

Also has anyone used lead sheeting for flags?  I don't fancy hand painting them but perhaps flag transfers
on lead sheeting would look more realistic with the folds?

I went to war flags for mine, changing them around in paint etc to get the exact image that I wanted.  I haven't stick mine to lead foil but glue-sticked the two sides of paper together (around a staff), curled the flag around a pencil, then fixed the paper with a flood of runny superglue.

I've been using thin .005 polystyrene plastic sheets ( http://www.evergreenscalemodels.com/Sheets.htm )
I will print off the flags on sticker paper from an ink jet printer, most you can pull from Google or Wiki and hand paint over the design. Sort of a paint by numbers for the standard impaired. Recently I've been using a heat gun to rumple the plastic a bit; this has produced mixed results.
