Title: A few figs and initial impressions of the game. *updated*
Post by: strangefellow on February 18, 2011, 02:39:52 PM
Hi all

I have finally gotten a few figs painted - Supadupa man, Howie and the girls, a spider and a small terrain piece.

I had my first test game yesterday. I must say the rules are well put together. We only had to consult the book a few times and the game flowed really well. It plays so different to most other skirmish games out there, it's a real treat to play. We're a couple of guys who are totally hooked on this now  :)

I must admit it's been a while since i've painted 28mm (only painted 15mm the last couple of years) and it shows, but all in all i'm fairly happy with them.

I am currently working om a 90x90cm board, a few hills, highway desert style roads and a highway diner. Pics coming soon.

....and here are the WIP pics of the diner.

Very nice painting.
I especially like what you did to the car.

Thanks
Amalric

Thanks  :) I aimed for a cartoony look instead of the usual realistic approach.

Very cool!
Where did you get the vines that are on the car?

They are "Armypainter - Poison ivy" They are super nice and easy to work with. They make a nice assortment of grass tufts and other scenics too

Looking great so far & I love how you've done the car. I agree with you about the rules too. Simple to grasp but with enough fresh ideas to make them stand out.

I really must bump AC57 further up my list of projects  :?

It has cleared my whole priority list  :D
The cartoony b-movie feel of the game is priceless. Can't wait for the rest of the rules to be published.

Has anyone else been thinking about a campaign system? I am thinking about doing one along the lines of Mordheim or Necromunda

Total support here for a Campaign system- friends and I are looking for that perfect Post-Apoc Campaign game. Right now we have Mutants and Death Rays as the top contender but I would hate to see AC57 just a one shot side show using the same tables. More content for what is becoming obvious, a gem of a game!
