Title: .45 Adventure 2nd edition Demo Rules Now Available!

After far too many delays, the demo version of the rules for .45 Adventure 2nd edition are now available for FREE download.

You'll get a lot with these demo rules (all the combat rules, Ground and flying vehicles as well as all the other basic rules). There is more than enough to take things for a test drive and find out if you like them. You even get the Sample archetypes for both Law Enforcement and Criminals so that you can start trying out the new builds on your own.

You will see if you check out the Table of Contents, that I am still working on layout for the second half the book, so just because you don't see something listed there (like Campaigns) don't think that it won't be in the book. It will, I just don't know where it will fall yet. Things you will see in the Table of Contents that won't be in the demo rules are The Occult, Super Science, more sample archetypes, and of course the archetype building formula.

There is no sample scenario with the demo, but after I get the book finished, I will add one to it. For now, you should be able to use any scenario you have created or one of the old 1st edition scenarios (though they may need some tweaking to work within the new rules).

You will need to download the Special Abilities List as well, as that is not in the demo PDF.

So, here it is, the link to the demo version of the rules:

I hope everyone is able to enjoy these and I look forward to hearing comments.

Excellent. I'll be printing this out tomorrow!

Any chance of rules for watercraft?
And by that I mean anything from ideas for scenario objectives to actual movement, shooting, damage etc.

Awesome! Just in time to print them out on the nice printer at job #2.  lol

Rich, typos and spilling misteaks by PM, or is it too late to kill them dead before the real rules go to print?

Edit to add more comments on the new shiny:
- simplified Initiative - thank you, thank you, thank you! Loss of the DG effect is unfortunate, but so much easier otherwise.
- simplified Driving & Explosives - good!
- it looks like the "spillover" damage & DR save is gone? IE if a WS5 pistol hits a DR4 location, that chance of a 2nd wound is gone?

More later as it's perused and digested...

Skimmed it and well....

I have to admit that I really like the streamlining that's gone into it so far. Already, there's traces in the preview that demonstrate I might will be able to flesh out a Weird World War II scenario I've been baking for well... quite some time.

Having a quick wee look over the rules there is one little suggestion I'd like to make straight away.

As someone who didn't actually play first edition, I've been waiting for 2nd, I'm not well versed in the various stats and what the shorthands mean. Certainly they are all pointed out very clearly in the rules but as such a new player I often find myself having to check back and forth while reading when I come to a shorthand for a stat which breaks up my learning of the rules somewhat.

If there isn't enough room to do this I've no real problem, of course on character cards and in examples then the shorthands are fine but in the actual rules descriptions themselves it would be nice to see the full terms as much as possible.

Naturally I can solve the problem myself by typing out a wee reference sheet so I can check things quickly, but was just looking at it from an ease of entry perspective.

ANY typos you find, you can PM me with page number and section up until tomorrow morning.

Now, 2 and 3 wounds can still be caused. Look at the Wounding section. Double and Triple WS over DR will still cause multiple wounds.

I have tried to eliminate the shorthand for stats. The only two that I know are used consistently throughout that I did not remove are DR (Defensive Rating) and WS (Weapon Strength). Those two were just too long to keep typing (had to give my fingers some kind of break  lol ) If you find others that I have missed, again, you can PM me up until tomorrow morning.

Finally, THANK YOU for all the comments so far. I can't believe that in less than 24 hours over 300 people have downloaded the demo rules. I know that over the course of 5 years I had sold a few rulebooks, but it still makes it all worthwhile to see the sudden rush of people wanting to get them.

I think WS was probably the one I noticed the most so it probably isn't as common as I thought ... I'm still trying to re-wire my brain as I played GW games for 15+ years so WS still makes me think Weapon Skill automatically.

Hopefully I can have a better read this evening, but really it all looks great.
