Title: New Project: So Foot Woman (28/6 battle report!)
Post by: Dr. The Viking on March 04, 2011, 11:19:07 AM
For this years out door summer convention I'm going to present an adaption of the 50 Foot Woman (aptly renamed "So Foot Woman" on some Chinese DVD copies).

What's it about? Well. A woman is transformed by aliens in a flying saucer into a giant woman. Then she wreaks havoc in the local community. That's it. Weirdly and to the disappointed of many, her clothes grow with her at least to some extent.

First things first: I need a woman.

Choice fell on a Barbie doll. Blondes are boring so I chose a brunette (was cheaper):

And being me I had to have some sheep transmuted too:

Next up I need to do a bit of green stuffing and then a lick o' paint.

Hmm.. Is that a happy "Nooooooooooooooooo!" or just a "Nooooooooooooooooo!"?

Yes, I remember being disappointed not getting even a glimpse of 50 foot scale boobs. The thought of her 50 foot scale hoo-ha is for some reason not as appealing.

But then again, I have come to expect the unexpected where ever the Viking pillages.   :)

Why is that second sheep pretending to be a tiger?

He's putting on a defiant face so he won't be "drafted into service" by the 50ft woman the next time it is "that time of the month"... ;) :)

Grand idea. I would like to say that I like the sheep figures better than the lady, but since I'm not a Scot/Aussie/Kiwi, I'm probably not entitled to do so. lol

Wow! I leave for half a day and we're already on page two!  lol

Are you going off of the 50's version, or the Daryl Hannah one in (I believe) the 80's

Yes one of those two.  ;)

I don't know yet. 50's would be my preference, but 80's is just so ugly, that I might be more fun.

Damn that Barbie Blister looks like it could be converted into a nice retro spaceship...

OK, looks like I'm infected by your weirdness, I'll better stay away from the LAF for a long time...  ;)

Haha yes sure! That'll help ;D

So you finally found an excuse to play with Barbie Dolls.  Bravo.   lol

It is only now that I realise just what a Pandora I've opened. .... ... ... . . .. .

Funny, it is most often the other way around.

Well it is in real life... but in Barbie World it's the other way around apparently. At least at my local Toys'R'Us lol

Haha! I can't wait to see what this ends up like!  :)

haha me neither. I seriously hope I can get me wee hands on an airbrush though. Would be just smashing for this.

Title: Re: New Project: So Foot Woman

haha!

I blame it on Mussorgsky. I've been listening too much to A Night on the Bare Mountain, which would my choice for the soundtrack of this game!

Been contemplating rules, and while I'm set on the "how to hit stuff and move other stuff" I've been thinking about what special rules I want the So Foot Woman to be able to do.

She's definitely going to be throwing cars and lifting roofs off of buildings. Stomping perhaps?

As there is going to be a very uneven number of models on each side I'll let the SF Woman act whenever the side has acted with 2 units.

So if side A has 7 units (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) the turn sequence would be something

Turn begins
SF Woman
1
2
SF Woman
3
4
SF Woman
5
6
SF Woman
7
Turn ends

That's going to both make her powerful and ensure lots of action and shivering humans,.

Haven't really considered the sheep yet, but they are vital to my design.. somehow!

I think we can derive some special rules from this tread:
At the start of the so foot woman's turn you roll to see if she goes into a red rage, which will boost her stats, but at the end of her turn she needs to 'use' one of the sheep.
Looking forward to playing with her, I'm starting to think this game migth get even better than the last horror incident in Røvede city - my alltime favority wacky game: Spiders from Mars ate my babies

Interesting indeed... although for a moment I did think it might be a woman with fifty feet. This would have become a very popular thread with the foot fetish brigade, and lead to discussions of deploying shoes succesfully. As it is we'll have to stick with playing with dolls, pretending to be shocked by the crudity expressed while waiting for Akula to come along with a bloody outstanding reason for buying a life-sized inflatable lady friend.  ;)

hmm!

I have encountered a problem with the dear doll. Her legs are made from rubber making it neigh impossible to balance her on the CD I've picked as her base.

Not one to give up that easily I thought she might get a lamp post to lean on. But I seem to be uanble to find a 28mm modern lamp post?

Does anyone know of a company that produces said device in an impressive size?

How about a telegraph pole instead? You could make your own from dowel.

Or drill into the heel of her feet to insert a length of brass rod - you can then pin and glue to the CD base if you drill corresponding holes in the CD.

A telegraph pole is not a bad idea at all... including som wire and all!

I'll go with that.
Title: Re: New Project: So Foot Woman
Post by: Ezekiel on March 11, 2011, 12:41:01 AM
Why not just insert a big rod into her? Wouldn't a pole make her less dynamic, unless she uses it to play golf with the puny humans ofc.
Does paint stick to her? I'm just curious/exited because I finally get to play with barbies without the scorn of six year old girls.

On the contrary I think modelling some scenic elements unto the base and letting the doll interact with them will help lift it out of barbiedom.

I've heard of "bad hair days", but this is ridiculous!  lol

Great idea, finely executed. I have to say, though, that the eyes look a bit too "dead" (the pupils don't really seem to focus). Unless she is a 50ft zombie woman, then she's perfect... that said, local females here in Hull don't look that different in the small hours of Saturday, or so I've been told. ;)

Thank you. I don't know if she's a zombie, but I tried to make the pupils look rather small like a junkie's.
I've added a couple of coats of water effects too now to make them look blank and watery..  o_o

I was a bit pressed for time doing this piece as this year's Random Encounters outdoor convention - Åcon - is next weekend.

Don't get me wrong - it's still a nice figure, but I just feel the eyes let it down a bit. I probably would have wimped out of painting the pupils and just gone for a glowing blue, green or red, depending on what caused her rampage - some kind of magic, nuclear waste, or that time of the month.

Well I already wimped out a lot on this model.. Initially it was supposed to have been magnetized so the arms, the head and the legs would come off when it took damage. I'll probably make a man for her at some point (me kids have a lot of Action Man that they never use).

I am now in the process of making two ginormeous sheep that she can have as followers.

Post by: Dr. The Viking on June 28, 2011, 09:00:31 AM
This year's Åcon is over and we had a blast playing our annual (semi annual) B-movie:

The story short:

The neofascist film director Lors van Triangel has in collabroration with bug eyed monsters released a host of genetically enhanced monster on Røvede. His plan is to film a live action dogme monster film with everything as authentic as possible and no actors!

Throughout the city Lors has had several crates of raw film placed so that his camera crew won't run out. Little can be done about the rampaging monsters but Stein Bagger, the mayor of Røvede, has decided at least to ruin the filming project.

The parts are:

The Home Guard - low grade no good fatties that sit around drinking coffee and eating cake rather than fighting.

The Røvede Police Department -  low grade no good fatties that sit around drinking coffee and eating doughnuts rather than fighting.

The SWAT - Hardened veterans and brilliant fighters that shoot first and arrest later.

The Spiders from Mars Who Ate Our Babies: Vicious monsters that eat all the babies they come upon. They turn the dead into nests for their own babies.

The So Foot Woman - Former Wife of Lors van Triangle. Now in a complete rage as she is too big to fit in bathrooms, too big to find her make up, no shopping malls cater for her size and it's that time of month

The Bug Eyed Monsters - evil alien geneticists responsible at least in part for all the ravage.

And action!

Damn!

Great terrain, great story and a great report.

The Evil Barbie looked a true terror.

Well done, I wasn't so sure you'd pull it off, but you did... wonderfully!  :-*

That is totally brilliant. The game looks fun and the models are cool. Why did she stop being brunette though?!

Well the brunette unfortunately had rubber legs without any thing to hold the weight up... so I went to a second had store and bought a blonde with stiff hard plastic legs (like Barbies in the olden days..) instead.  :D

NEVER HEARD OF A HEAD SWAP!

Actually, I think the white blonde look is great, looks really scary and wild. The blood smears are really well done too.

Spectacular from start to finish.

I was sceptical about how the doll would look on the tabletop but it all worked out brilliantly.

Fantastic.
