Title: The Sheik's Sword
Post by: Sterling Moose on March 20, 2011, 12:58:43 AM
Master scratchbuilder Pasha Dan has just finished this for one of our arab players in preparation for the annual VSF Bring and Battle at Hotlead (http://www.hotlead.ca/).
It started life as an old Reviresco Whippet tank.

Dan, as always, is a twisted, talented man. :) We have to get him onto the forum some day.

Agreed he should be here, only trouble is that he would overshadow the rest of us.  Fortunately he's claiming that he's not technologically savvy enough to post these to LAF.

I'm not sure he is savvy enough to read posts on LAF let alone make posts!
 ;D
Beautiful model though.  Can't wait to see it on the table!

I always judge VSF contraptions by whether or not they put a smile on my face   :)  :)  :)

Great stuff! Love the completely impractical blades on the front  lol

Then we shall have to depend on you to bring his goodness to our eyes, and our praises back to him. Mine included.  :D

Makes, however, the whole 'By the by, how did you do the...' a bit problematic...

In that case, break into his studio, take lots of pics and then post them here. He'll never know and we can enjoy his stuff  ;)

Gentlemen:

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Yes, you've shamed me into registering on the Forum, if only to save my home from being pillaged by you lot!

Actually, I was just looking for something to do and thought I'd kitbash the vehicle for Joe. The Arabic on the side says "The Sheik's Sword", and I thought that the blue prayer rug added a bit of flavor to the whole thing.

In our club we have what's called "The Gurkha Rule" (don't ask!), in which the newest, brightest, most impressive new unit that you've just created usually gets totally decimated in its first game. If this holds true to tradition, I may have to change the name of the tank to "The Sheik's Shovel".

Welcome Dan! Good to have you on the forum.

We've had a preview of a few other of Dan's conversions over the years on the LAF. My favourite, the Wulf:

Dan is also responsible for my Walkers:

Chairface, sorry to do this to you, but I'm converting Wulf into a walker. I'll post (when I figure out how) pictures once its done.

Sterling Moose, no pressure here, but those walkers would look more intimidaing with armament and crew. As they are, they look more like Bolshevik runway models. Without the guns, VSF merely stands for Very Safe Foes!

See you both at HotLead brothers!

Welcome Dan!  hope you don't mind if I use the short form of your name.  It is much more proper than some of the epithets I have thrown across the table at you!
Nice model.  I am sure the Sheikmeister will get good use out of it!
See you Friday!
