Title: 10 or 15 mm VSF armies
Post by: Conquistador on March 31, 2011, 02:04:40 AM
Okay, I may need to trade in my 25+ mm figures for 15 mm (unsure about 10 mm, definitely 6 mm for large battles,) when I retire and move. IF I decide to do that – what sources do you guys use for 10 or 15 mm armies for small non-skirmish battles?

Ideas for sources for Spanish VSF armies?

Gracias,

Glenn

If you like to go for 10mm, then Pendraken might be of interest.

The minis are equally detailed if compared to 15mm. 10mm would also mean, that you can use 1/144 aircraft without any further tweaking. Which is a good thing.

Hope that helps.

My 15mm VSF are mix for many manufacturers! I prefer 15mm VSF to 10mm because you can easely find VSF characters in 15mm scale.

Glenn, here's a bit of my 15mm collection.

As you can see its mainly historical figures from various manufacturers but more recently I've beefed it up with Black Hat's excellent range.

Wow, Thunderchicken, Nice!   8)   :-*

You know, if I can get some decent cross-genere terrain, some VSF (looks promising,) some Spanish Victorian historical stand-ins, Some Banditos for pre-MAW banditos/vaqueros/Indios games in "North of Chihuhua," and some "Zorro" figures I might find this pending retirement (2016) reduction/restructuring/consolidation not so bad.  Presidials/Zorro and Soldados de Cuera in 15mm are still TBD but the rest seems currently or in the near future to be feasible.

All my other games (WW1 aircraft/post WW2 aircraft in 1/600th, SF AFVs in 1/300th, aeronef in 1/1200, and PTO WW2 in 1:6000) already meet the storage/moving requirements just fine.  It's the 25+ mm stuff that is the space killer for the future.   lol  Won't it be ironic if my Der Kriegspieler Dwarf armies turn out to take the most space?   ??? ??? ???  lol lol lol

Gracias,

Glenn

Throw in Old Glory and Peter Pig minis, there are a few others, but need more coffee to get the brain cells moving. But over all I think there is more 15mm lines / ages available than there are 10mm, though I admit to not being well versed in 10mm availabilities.
