This is the first mini I ever sculpt, I have no idea about modelling and I try to sculpt it improvising.
Is not finished, and still need lots of work, is about 35 mm tall, and i hope you like it.
I will post more pictures whit more work progress ;)

Wow,for your first sculpt that is excellent :) I think you have a great talent there and should keep going with. Its a very nice pose, lots of movement in it. Keep it up :)

the original idea is the flex right leg standing over a rock, like the original Frazetta´s picture, but perhaps the leg in the air, in a "300" charging posture cuold be great.
What do you think?

It's a great first sculpt. You have a lot of potential.
Here is my critique for things you could work on:
Face: from the profile shot it looks like his brow is a little too pronounced.
Pose: If you want it to look like he's running forward, his back should be bent slightly.
Arms: I would bend at least one arm at the elbow. Both arms out straight feels a little unnatural.
Your musculature looks really good. The chest, arms and legs all look like you spent some time studying anatomy. I think with practice you could have a long career as a sculptor.

Great first sculpt mate!
Critique: the nose looks a little funny, like the nostrils are too wide. The pose, whilst great, is a little stiff. Rich had it when he said the back should be more bent and the front arm bent towards the body. His left hand lacks definition.
Really though, it looks great. You're going to go far.

the face was really dificult to me, I need 3 attempts, and finally I use this. Isnt really great, but is the best I can do. This evening I retouch it a bit, but im not sure if looks better. I hate noses...
The left arm bend to body is a good idea, but if in future I make a mold of the mini, it would be a problem I think

As for the pose, don't worry about casting. If necessary, it can be done in more than one piece. This is especially true if you're creating a character piece which people would be more than willing to pay a little bit more for if the pose is dynamic and the sculpting good. If the model was a rank and file spearman or something, then keeping it to one mold cavity would be important since you would want to keep costs down.

:) Really good! Like everybody else says, and please keep sculpting! I'm really interested in your choice of topic for your first sculpt. I just read Princess of Mars and Gods of Mars again after decades. I've got a lot of the Bronze Age Minis "Dead Earth" figures and I'm thinking of getting a few of the Parroom Station ones from the London War Room. If you are inspired by ERB topics such as Mars, the Earth's core, and the jungle, maybe you should try 28mm sculpts in order to add interesting figures to what's now on the market. There is SO MUCH that has not yet been sculpted for these topics. :mrgreen:
