The Fantastic Worlds: Pulp Action in the Far Reaches of Space demo rules are now available. This PDF contains all the rules and characters necessary to play the sample scenario The Lost City of Nasdith. This scenario will not appear in the main rulebook, so even if you plan to buy the rules, be sure to download the demo version first.
You can get the download from the Fantastic Worlds Download forum (http://www.rattrapproductions.com/speakeasy/viewtopic.php?p=1795#1795)
The main rulebook will be available November 1st and will retail for $18.00.
Fantastic Worlds: Pulp Action in the Far Reaches of Space is a stand-alone game system. It contains all the rules that players will need to put their favorite science fiction miniatures down on the board and begin playing.
Just one book contains all the rules for combat and scenarios, as well as, character archetypes for everything from Star Commanders to Hotshot Pilots to Rogues to Tribal Leaders. And there are also rules that will allow players to turn any one of these archetypes into an alien with wings, prehensile tail, or even an exo-skeleton.
This book also includes scenarios that feel like they are straight out of a pulp novel or comic strip so players can get started right away.
So grab your ray gun and bubble helmet and get ready to explore some Fantastic Worlds!

I downloaded and had a look - this is the first set of rules I've seen from Rat Trap. They look pretty cool, I'd love to give them a try. One question... where are the different archetypes explained? Page 23 talks about them but I don't see a list anywhere.

The archetypes are not included in the free download. You can get a look at what to expect in the table of contents, but you gotta buy the book to get them. :)

Oh no not another Rattrap rulebook!
Richard, it's bad enough that you've forced me into buying Pulp figures when I made a vow not to - now you're making me get Flash Gordon et al! Have you no consideration for my wallet?
Curse you rule writers!
Cheers,

Don't you know that it's all part of my insidious plot to rule the world and I'm starting with miniature gamers first.
