Title: Toxic Zombies - *update* finished and posted in Future Wars
Post by: zizi666 on April 29, 2011, 07:21:03 PM
I'm painting up Eureka's Toxic zombies.
I'm satisfied about colors, but I'd like to give them something more.
I've got Vallejo's Gel Denso to create a water/goo effect (I'd love some goo dripping from the limbs or barrel sides) but was also considering a glow in the dark effect. I believe revell did a ghost ship in days gone by that came with glow in the dark paint.
Anyone knows if such paint is available and if the colors would still come through after applying ?
this is what I've got so far (am considering printing poison and/or biohazard decals to put on the barrels)

I've used glo in the dark acrylic paint.  Very effective it was too.  A couple of years ago I bought a poster paint set from my local art store that included pinks and other 'girly' shades plus two small pots of the more conventional yellow/green.

A quick internet search provided me with prices of +/- €20 for some glow-in-the-dark paint, which I probably would have used only once, so Goo it is.
Still have to finish the bases and print/add decals to the barrels.
I'm also considering a green/yellow-ish wash since these cuties have been submerged in the goo for some time, but I'm afraid that will obscure all the paint.  :?
So, if anyone has done something similar I would really like to know. this is what I got for now :

I had picked up some glow in the dark nail polish to use for a project.
far cheaper than you would expect and in different colors, just visit your local emo/goth mall based store
and WHAMMO green, blue, orange glow in the dark "paints" all for about $2 each

Perhaps you should have  245 TRIOXIN written on your barrels or

"PROPERTY  DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY . IN CASE OF EMERGENCY CALL (800) 454-8000".

You mean something like this :

However, since I painted the barrels up like the ones in Fallout, I'm gonna try to match the warning signs with this :

Still testing for the best procedure to fixate the decals.
I'm getting a good result using Ghiant Inkjet Fixative spray and several layers of microset afterwards.
