Not sure how much interest there is among the Lead Adventure crowd for this type of thing, but I just stumbled upon this site today and thought I'd share it with you:
http://www.cbrnp.com/profiles/quarter1/index.html
Has lots of nice colour drawings of Great War planes' colour schems, if anyone is into that kind of thing. Might save you a bit of dosh on Osprey books!
Plenty from other eras there, too.

I think it is with aircraft colour plates for wargaming gentlemen as it is with ladies and shoes: "Darling, you can NEVER have too many..."
-
Hammershield is right, of course. Aircraft plates and markings should be a recognizable form of art and a subject of study with vexilology and heraldry. You should be able to hang an aircraft plate over the fireplace and have visitors exclaim things like: "Oh, what a lovely Dassault Mirage! French post-war high-gloss naval markings are an unappreciated set."
Thanks, Poly.

I guess 'Thank you' should do it without this eloquent bla-bla ;)

That would be more efficient, yes. :P 8)

But what a tiresome, dull existence we Lead Adventurers would trudge through, were we prohibited a little of our eloquent bla-bla from time to time...

I, for one, would have no idea where to channel my work time boredom. i would probably have to turn to nun-beating or something similar.

Not nun-beating again. These nuns will get their revenge one day

The two of you with a similar point of view? Could that be?

Never beat up a Nun, Pedar! you never know whats underneath their habit :)
Poly good work on the link. If folks want a link to Turkish aircraft let us know :)

Oh, I've got quite a good one, since you mention it, Helen.
Clicking on any of the planes on this page leads to wondrous Ottoman colour-plateage:

Though it may well turn out that it was you who gave me this link, via your TMP pseudonym (I must admit I can't remember what you call yourself over there). If so, I apologise for my presumption.

It's okay, Phil. Quite a few of the folks around here call me Poly. It's because of my TMP screen-name.
