Hi guys, thanks for looking! this is my first thread on the LAF, but not the last, as i've been properly sucked into doing as many projects at once as possible! Anyway, most of these pics will be from older projects, but i thought i'd give them another airing on this forum too :)
Vampire and skeletons:

Hope you like what you see! :D

Nice miniatures and painting.Love the Jester conversion.
-
Yep, I do like what I see. Good job!
-
Nice work, and a great mix of old and new! =)
-
Excellent painting! I like the colours on the vampire lady.
-
Here is what I like: the regiment with the vamp is great, the Necromancer's face with the purple under the eyes is fantastic, the book is really done well with smart designs. Things I don't like: NADA, everything looks great! I really have a soft spot for the undead.

Cheers guys :D

They are all VERY COOL & with GREAT paint jobs & basing...I love the Living Impaired Jester & the detail work on the Necro-Guys Book. VERY WELL DONE!
-
Really awesome work! Empire was the faction of my choice back in the days when I played WHFB. Lovely conversion and that dead jester just rocks!
-
Cheers guys, seems the jester is getting quite a fanbase, not too bad for about an hour and a bits work!
Just to keep myself on a roll, here's my Arachnarok:
(http://i975.photobucket.com/albums/ae233/purple_squirrel77/Rochies%20Warhammer%20models%202010/22032011578.jpg)
Just the crew and the watery bits on the base to do, and that's her finished! I'm chuffed with how it's turned out, had to deviate from the original idea, but i think it turned out grand in the end!
Some close ups;

next up I'll be nipping out of this thread and posting my Swamp Thing repaint on the superhero thread, and then I'll be appearing in the CoC/Strange Aeons with some cultists I've been fannying around with, so it'll be a small while before I update here! :)
-
Wow Rochie, great work and welcome to the Lead Adventure Forum! I've seen those undead on Carpe Noctem but therest is very special as well!
I really like your paint-job on the giant spider. Rather than a dangerous/venomous colourful look you've made it look massive and ancient, as such a large monster should be! Can't wait to see it finished!
-
Thank you Pil! I thought you might recognise them alright, I've been following your stuff on CN for a while, in fact.. now that I think of it, I found this forum thanks to you, so it's your fault my project list has tripled!!!!! :D
On the subject of the spider, it's on the back burner for the moment, I've finally gotten my younger brother back in the gaming fold after years away from it, he said he'd be up for a bit of Flames of War, on the condition I painted his army. I agreed before he'd chosen his army, then he decided (with an evil grin i might add) to do Russians........bastard. So now my entire forseeable future is painting russian infantry...... the things we do for family, eh? ::)

New stuff for the undead;
(http://i975.photobucket.com/albums/ae233/purple_squirrel77/Rochies%20Warhammer%20models%202010/Necromancer-1.jpg)
and it'd be rude not to give him someone to boss around;
(http://i975.photobucket.com/albums/ae233/purple_squirrel77/Rochies%20Warhammer%20models%202010/28052011777.jpg)
I've amalgamated all my skellies into one 40 man unit, and finally gotten them all done! :D
close up of the standard;

my old bsb banner on a really old standard bearer. he used to have a brilliant metal one but it's gone into the void somewhere..pain in the bum.
And a banshee;

Enjoy!

You're a dab hand with a brush ain't ya?! :D
Really like your detail work on the necromancer's book.
-
Wow, those are some really nice minis, fantastic work! :-*
I really need to get into some fantasy gaming...
-
Okay, I know I said that arach monster looks stupid but you certainly did a great job on it. I mean wow - far out. And I do love these older miniatures (especially Mr. Kemmler), you really made them look their best. Impressive!
-
Lovely stuff,specially the old kemmler

just stumbling through some of these threads in here ...
maybe a little bit late (but only a little ... and positive feedback is never late on the other hand ^^)
I really like the open pages of the sorcerers book in post #1!
How did You do the writing, exactly? Is it some Ink? One or two layers, or what? Really like to know!
best wishes
Drachenklinge

Looking good. I get a nostalgic feeling, even with some of the newer models, which is a good thing :)

Never too late mate, in fact, I'm photographing more stuff for an update as we speak! :)
The book was built up with VERY thin glazes, and lots and lots of swearing....seriously, lots...
And cheers braxandur! there's more to come! :D
-
Good job, standard looks particularly fab.
-
thanks for explaining ... but You wouldn't have some former steps from this book left over in Your pix?
But - just to be sure - there are lots of washes involved with this magican, too, right?
best wishes

That giant spider looks awesome!

Sorry mate, I don't have any wips of the freehand stuff, it's all done in one sitting, i don't put the paintbrush down once I start, I've always found that if I do it in stages with breaks in between it never turns out as good for some reason, but having said that, the next time I'm doing a piece like this I'll try and get you some shots of how I go about it.
On the magician, it depends what you mean by wash, I did use inks, but they were watered down to roughly 10 parts water to two parts ink, more like a glaze, and these were used all over the model once all the blending was done, they were used more to pull the colours together than to shade the model, I let the black undercoat do that for me :D
I hope this helps, I'm bloody terrible at explaining stuff, I find it easier just to sit down with someone and show them as I work.. so if you're ever in Dublin wit yer brushes, gimme a shout and we'll make a plan :D
To everyone else who was good enough to comment, thank you! I've been a busy little monkey this week, and have some ghouls for your perusal... once I get a decent photo :?
-
Ghouls are done! :D

Those ghouls are awesome! I like the minis and you really brought out the best in them! Wonderful pics.
-

I love your painting style. It is exactly the level I want to achieve, when I grow up. Maybe a few more years of practice and I will get there.
I love the variety of minis that you are painting. Nice mixture. The ghouls did disturb me, but I guess that this the whole point.
-
Thanks for all your encouragement guys!

My wife hates the ghouls, thinks they're nasty, so I guess I pulled it off! :D And on my painting? there's much, much better out there, but keep going and one day it'll just click for you (I'm painting miniatures 17 years, and it's only in the past two that I've gotten to a level that I'm happy to show to others!!)
-
your wife is right, they are nasty, lovely nasty, the ghoul kid is really great! congratulations!
-
Those ghouls are really creepy. Well done.
-
Excellent paintwork.
