Nice entries guys. Two great ideas!
-
Indeed, lovely work on both entries! I really like the concept of the King Kong entry, I wouldn't have thought of that. 8)

Had to vote for the apes, here are his cousins: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_9Ty9XIdJAyg/S13WlrWOtoI/AAAAAAAAAoE/YfHi7TNG0Lg/s1600-h/S7304382.JPG (http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_9Ty9XIdJAyg/S13WlrWOtoI/AAAAAAAAAoE/YfHi7TNG0Lg/s1600-h/S7304382.JPG) :D

King Kong vs scratchbuild planes on an scratchbuild tower ... insane, but I love it!! :-*
-
Both entries are brilliant, but I love the way that The Great Escape is presented as a movie poster. Wonderful idea.

Both of these entries are great :D ::) I'll be going now...

It was one of my initial thoughts to do Kong, but after some brainstorming I came up with lots of other movies so it got pushed back a bit (much!)
But all these other movie scenes had pretty complicated set-ups and required mostly new models -meaning still had to be bought!-
Now although the "to be bought" models would have been useful in several games, lack of time/space/motivation/computer/funding prevented me from buying the required models and so I set out to a cheap 'n' easy alternative...
...and this brings us back to King Kong!
The idea was simple: a few airplanes, a tower of some sort and of course a big ape!
I looked into several plane models but after a lot of "too big" or "too expensive" I decided to give it a go at making them from scratch, wich worked out frikkin darn well!
I had planned on ordering a gorilla mini online somewhere but in the end a visit to the toy store provided me with one of those "zoo animal" sets that had a decent gorilla in it for a few bucks/euro/pounds.
After repositioning one of the arms and resculpting some of the fur it was time to paint the entire shanannigan and get it onto the tower for that famous scene that probably everybody knows!
Ind the end I'm glad I went for "King Kong" as it is such an icon in movie history!

On the flip side, I did go out and buy a bunch of stuff for this, and as a result still have another 11 guards and stooges that never got painted. My original daft plan included two more buildings, a fence, a guard tower and a lot more models. Then reality set in: it took me an entire week just to finish the truck o_o.

Hehe, excellent (though little more expensive!) entry Lidless!!!
If you got models left you're already set for LPL6 then ;D
