Chris, those little robots are really quirky - comic and cool at once. Very neat, and quite Wallace and Grommit!  :)

But the Cardinal's Guard - wow, they really GLOW!
Vikotnik - your mastery of red (notoriously tricky) is something else.
But you know what I like the best? Those super shiny sword guards! They actually look like polished brass. Brilliant. Please tell me what metallic paint you used to get such a realistic effect.
(I'm still using Vallejo 'old gold', and it's about as bright and shiny as mud!)

Thank You very much for the nice comment, Captain Blood!

I use Vallejo paints, too. :)

Here is how I painted the sword guards:
I always paint the metallic parts of a miniature last.
As base colour, I use VGC'Tinny Tin' over a black undercoat. Then I highlight with VMC 'Brass'. Next is a wash with VGI 'Sepia'.
After that step, I usually varnish the miniature. The metallic highlights are added as a final step after varnishing. On the sword guards, I used a mixture of VGC 'Ploished Gold' and VGC 'Silver'.

Hope that helped!
