Title: BoB Artillery

Hi All,

I'm looking at putting together a BoB force using mostly Copplestone figures (In fact I've started). However, I'm drawing a blank on what artillery I could use. Can anyone please give me any ideas for artillery pieces and figures that fit in with Copplestone figures?

What kind of force do you want to build?

I seem to recall that the CC range already includes Chinese, Red and White Russian field pieces, so those should be accounted for. For Brits, the Woodbine Design Company range (sold by Gripping Beast) includes a nice 18pdr, the crew of which can be equipped with Wolseley helmet heads; that said, they don't work that well next to Copplestone figs which are noticeably bulkier.

You're right Chris, the CC range take care of the Chinese, white Russians and red Russians. I'm thinking more of the British, German and Turks. With the British there is also the possibility of colonial troops too of course.

Brigade Games do a 2.75" Mountain Gun with Indian crew. And there's always the good old Stokes:

I see. In that case, for the Brits, apart from the stonking Stokes modeled by good Senor Plynkes here, I would consider getting the Great War Miniatures 18pdr (which is the same one as for the Woodbine set), possibly with a Great War crew as well, as their dimensions are much closer to Copplestone castings. They also have a quite decent-looking German 77mm FK 96 (iirc), and there is a beautiful little anti-tank gun in the late war range, too.

Brigade Games has Turkish and German guns and crews in their WWI Palestine section.  I thought there was a British one too, but 3 seconds of looking didn't find it.

And if you don't mind 'true 25mm', Battle Honors has Turkish, German and British.

Plynkes-I was somehow blissfully unaware of that mountain gun.  If I end up with one, I am blaming you lol

Coggon, if you buy it take the version with the mules, they are worth the extra money.

Renegade do Artillery that is bulky enough to fit with copplestone - English and German.  The crews are very western front WWI but as the pieces are relatively cheap by comparison to others it ma be you can find other crew.

If your figures are not always in summer uniform then Tiger's got both British and American 1919 Russian incursion figures that includes a gun crew, they also make artillery pieces for the time period.

Seriously, I am trying very hard NOT to buy anything for a while
