Title: Ogre
Post by: Andrew May on July 03, 2011, 10:45:27 PM
Well the website says it's a "hill troll". One of my favourite minis in the leadpile, formerly of Vendel (now availiable from Sgt major minis under the name "molon labe fantasy") it's a really great range of simple chunky figures that ooze with character. I had problems trying to get a good photo of him, I'll try to get better ones in daylight tomorrow.

Pretty bold and simple mini, super easy to paint but I took him a bit far beyond tts as I'm  so fond of him.
Hope you enjoy him too.  :)

He's fabulous!

You know, you're not making this easier for me - I keep going back to that range and hovering over the 'add to cart' button for a couple of those figures. If only they were UK based...

They used to be.
Until someone went official with his BNP support...

Great job on a great mini!
Love the stubble.
And the hairdo! :o Sever or what!
Will have to check these out.
Thanks for the tip.

Ah, of course - the whole Vendel/Stafford Games thing with Roland Wotsit?

Correct.

Enought of that though :)

Indeed - so back to Andrew's painting of a nice figure.

Looking at him again, I think what makes me particularly like him is the slightly worldweary expression he has. Sort of 'Yes, I'm an ogre. Yes, I'm going to crush you with my big club. But why does it always have to end up like this?'

Awesome job! Loving the greens on the tunic.

Is that a banana on the base?

Peace,
 :)

Ha Ha! I thought that too when I looked at the photo but no, it's a leaf at an odd angle. lol

nice work. I like that green.

Also like the 'fairy tale' look- the nice clean lines and colours look like they might belong in a children's book (that's a good thing, BTW)

VERY COOL mini & VERY NICELY painted & based...the Big Guy oozes character/charm. Even better, it's a mini that is new to moi.
