Second battle on Zitadelle planet minicampaign last week at our two members wargames club.
After securing a landing zone for the orkīs huge spaceships, the XIII motorized division "Gorko" goes on their blitzkrieg run.
Moving fast to the east the frist elements of "Gorko" arrived to Emperograd outskirts.
Looking for some glory the minor ork sgt. knowned as Mad Dog tryed to conquer part of the industrial area before the bulk of the ork forces arrived.
Mad Dog leaded the assault of a bombed factory defended by imperial guard, a squad of the North Watch chapter Space Marines and a medium tank.
Meanwhile the other half of orks ocupied the second objective. The commandant of the ork tank donīt seemed glad whith the idea of advancing to an infantry crowed area and decided to stayed on guard at certain distance.(3 activation rolls failed!).
After an inicial succes Mad Dogīs attack becames a dissaster, caught on a deadly crossfire they was completly crashed!
Then imperials decided to counterattack but was to late to retake the objective on orkīs hands, whith the North Watch squad involved on close combat and the Leman Russ inmovilized by a lucky shot, the eight turn finished whith one objective on each side; a draw!

Also interested in that proces. B&W is no problem, but how did you achieve the gritty look ?
