Title: British Tanker suits...28mm
Post by: Old Goat on July 18, 2011, 11:12:47 AM
Or in the more common vernacular the pixie suit?

Is anyone aware of a manufacturer of aforementioned pixie suited minis?

Thanks as always, Goat.

Ahhh hadn't seen the BTD ones, although I've heard horror stories about them...

I was really after this...

Or something close to it...

28mm crewmen in pixie suits were the reason I started hanging out around here. I thought, after a loooong search, that this would be the place to find 'em. You received the exact same answer I got. It's either BTD or Warlord, and you have to sculpt the legs on the latter. Why won't anybody sculpt some? I tried, and it sucked with a capital S.

Good luck anyway!

Have you asked Warlord if they might sculpt some?
You never know, it might work

How do you do that? You guys from across the pond all seem to know each other, but here in balmy Quebec, you are but avatars on the world wide web! Asking Warlord to sculpt some 28mm crewmen in pixie suits is like praying to baby Jesus for good weather or something...

You're right though, it can't hurt to try, so here we go:

Dear Warlord,
Please sculpt some 28mm British/Commonwealth crewmen in pixie suits. Preferably a blister of 3, with 2 of them armed with revolvers. The 3rd one would look good with a Sten. While you're at it, try making a second blister with the crewmen wearing the British denim tank suit, or even better, the Canadian black suit.
Thanks in advance,

Sir Dryden

(I hope I haven't offended anyone with the prayer thingie. It was meant as a joke, so...)

No offence taken by me, I live around the corner from Warlord and am due to pop over to see Northstar tomorrow (at the current non-GW wargaming 'hub' in Nottingham - really, just a bunch of units at a small business centre). Do you want me to ask them? I have so many 28mm scale allied tanks that having some bailed out crew would be useful to me and others, plus there are so many options when you know the 'man who can' at Northstar!

Personally, I think that is a great offer and would love to see some Brit tankers in pixie suits. I still have my Aussie one (green) in the cupboard somewhere but it is a little snug these days!  lol

@Grimjack:

Wow, my prayers have been answered...

YESSS, ask the man who can. I'm sure I'm not the only one who craves a good crewman (that sounds weird somehow...).

Thanks in advance, and please give us some feedback on your meeting!

That is indeed tremendous news, bearing in mind the masses of German, Russian and US tankers out there it'd be great to have some Commonwealth lads.

The masses of truly brilliant 28mm armour out there now (Warlord, JTFM, Company B etc.) deserves some proper british Tank crew in the suits of pixieness...

Grimjack, Sir Dryden, 6mil, excellent work...

Then I can get my Recce troop, Guards Armour etc. etc. sorted... :D

Went round, Northstar busy with the new Perry plastic Mahdists (I have two boxes), plus Warlord also busy, moved into bigger office space, etc. Suggestion that everyone emails Warlord, although Artizan have some US tank crew that would be ok with a head swap? So much stuff being asked for, an email lingers in someone's inbox longer than a note or a verbal request...

Email duly sent.
I used this one, the wording looks quite good:

Yay!

I feel like an African prince who just needs 200$ to be able to claim his vast inheritance!

I guess I'll have to do the same. Off I go on the Interwebs. Wish me luck, there be dragons there.

Yours truly,

Sir Dryden
