Title: New Artizan Thrilling Tales
Post by: ArtizanDesigns on November 08, 2007, 03:21:40 PM
Hi Guys,
We've just released 14 new figures today that some of you might like.
It's a mixed bag with some household servants as well as a few 'rogue' foreign legion and other north african adventure types.

As for whats coming next in our pulp range- who knows, it's whatever enters Mike's mind :-)

As for new figures, you can't go wrong with a Fez and MP18 or maybe a Artillery Luger :D

All boffins need a pipe so that they can point with the stem. It's in the rules.

The scruffy Legion types are my favorite out of this set. Cowgirl is #3 after Pipe Boffin.

Who is Crow man.? Where/who is he inspired from?

There was a character called the Crowman in an old British kids' TV show called "Wurzel Gummidge" about a living scarecrow.

The Crowman looked a bit like that figure, though I don't remember him carrying a sickle.

Of course, I may be totally barking up the wrong tree.

I also wondered about that...

Kev Adams has sculpetd similar 40mm miniatures for Graven:

Correct tree :-)   Although the crowman in Wurzel Gummidge didn't have a sickle, he was the 'inspiration' behind this figure.
Mike's also got a half finished    figure of a scarecrow on it's wooden cross. Except there's obviously a real man  under the costume, with bulging eyes behind the mask :-)  (For anyone who knows it, think of the scarecrow in The League of Gentlemen!)

Oh, and we're a bit disappointed that nobody has spotted where we got some of the names for this last batch from.      No hints, see what you guys can find :-)

Eliza Stone is from Sharon Stone in "The Quick and The Dead"

Lt. Shab is shabby looking homicide detective Lt Columbo.

Not sure on this one but is Reeves the Butler is from Mortimer the Butler, via comedy duo Reeves and Mortimer?

I wish he had that sickle to take care of Aunt sally, she was evil, pure evil

Aaaarrrrgghhh! That was a truly disturbing & hilarious episode, when the two  little girls had that poor chap imprisoned in that scarecrow

Fantastic - I can't wait to see that figure!

Dylan, you could have started a whole new trend in bizarre wargames - now, we need a Papa Lazarou, a Hilary Briss & of course Edward & Tubbs
