From the parade ground at Horseguards.....

Jolly good, old pal!
-
I like them very much. The officer is an especially nice sculpt.
-
Bravo boys, off to bash the Bosche!
(With appologies to all the German forum members, of course!)
-
Great paint job - are they your scupts?
Just so you know only SNCOs/Warrant Officers and Highland officers wear the sash over the shoulder, normally officers wear it around the waist with the knot on the left hip.
I suggest you convert this guy into a Regimental Sergeant Major as he would wear an officer's sword with sash over the shoulder - he certainly looks like a veteran.
Modern British military bands still wear the same sort of unifroms so a quick scan around http://www.army.mod.uk/ will square you away.
Regards,
-
Very nice I can picture Harry Faversham hiding in the gloom, 4 feathers in his hand

Regards,
The figure at the front with sash and pace stick is the RSM. He is not an officer. Unfortunately you cannot see his rank chevrons in the photo.
The figures are Redoubt Enterprises.
Janner- we are neightbours I live in Teddington :)

Oohh, we're neighbours too then, I'm in Kingston.
Sorry for the OT post to bring it back a bit, nice pic. :)

Sorry, my incorrect assumption was based on he being at the front and Warrant Officers command from the flank or rear.
Anyway - why not pop down to Old Deer Park one Monday evening - unfortunately you'll have to put up with Soapy as well...

Why what happens at Old Deer Park? Is there a club?
-
Yes the London Gamers
Started by Soapy, myself and the lads from Gripping Beast. Great club have not been for a long time, but I do miss it so.
I'm in Northolt not that far away,
Janner you will have to pick up some Boltaction Ski Troops for your Finns. Hint hint.. Also sculpted by Richard Ansell.

A local club - how exciting. What games do they play?
Any room for not so serious gothic Horror/ VSF/ Old west shootouts/ Future wars type skirmish games where the emphasis is on fun? :)
-
It meets every Monday at the StJohns Ambulance "Valeta Hall" in Old Deer carpark in Richmond.
Mostly GW, FOW and WAB, but I'm sure if you have a set of rules and figures they will be open to suggestions.
All the best.
looking to get down to the club for some time. But work keeps getting in the way. Ironic the sculpting of Wargames Figures is getting in the way of playing with Wargames figures :D.
-
Sorry to Hijack the thread but great job on the Victorian Miniatures.
-
Hmmmm I thought the Beastie boys were in Eavesham? I know they used to have a shop in Richmond a few years ago.
I am not that far away form Richmond, Aylesbury Bucks is what 30 miles...hmmmm
-
They used to live in London before the company moved to Evesham. Before they bought GB they were all regulars of GW Richmond when I was the manager and Soapy was my Part Timer. That was nearly 10 years ago. :o.

Karl, its a quick (?) trip around the M25 and straight up the M3/A316. Its a pretty straight run through, but rush hour traffic maybe a problem.
If you want to come over one night we could go together(there's always safety in numbers) :)

Yep, that was me - the 20mm collection has grown considerably since then and the box files now take up more than a couple of book cases.
I was D and D and then Rifles before being put out to stud :o
and yes, i had a fantastic time in Madrid :)
-
Janner look forward to seeing your efforts as what you have done already is great.
Lead Adventure Forum brings together to adventures back together again. Brings a tear to the eye .

Perhaps we should start a new thread for arranging games somewhere rather than keep taking this spendid thread off-topic?
