Hi!
I have started a new project in an attempt to get my 28mm scale painting mojo back!
I picked up a few packs of Harlequin miniatures Goblins at Colours this year and painted one up on a whim and am quite pleased with how he turned out, especially as all the 8mm scale stuff I have tried painting over the last year or so has been a total disaster. Therefore I have decided to have a bash at painting up the rest of the little fellows!
Thus far I have the Chieftain ready but still need to finish his base:

Hopefully I will get another painted over the course of today and will add more pictures as I get chance!
All the best!

Nice figure blessed with a nice paintjob.
I like the colour scheme that you have chosen and I love the nose!
Great job, look forward to seeing more.
-
OH BABY, Goblins! That makes two of us who love The Nose...the nose, of course, is the focal point of the soul. I also am departing from the G.W. green stereotype. I like the skin shades you chose. VERY WELL DONE!
-
I really like the Harlequin goblins and you've done a great job on this one. Nice to see skin tone goblins rather than green tones.

Nice.
I'm really loving Goblins at the moment.
:D

Hmm. I'm trying to chose which colour to paint my greenskins. You're not helping!

Nice goblin!

Not green! lol I painted mine with the Dusky Flesh triad from Foundry (linkety link (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=29619.15)).

Looks good to me!

Hi!
Thanks for the comments so far folks!
Heres another member of my warband in the form of a Goblin sneak:
I don't know who manufactured him but he's a really characterful little fellow!
The skin tones were done in several stages starting with a pinkish base, an apricot colour followed with a few highlights of sand colour and a quick devlin mud wash. I then picked out the highlights with apricot again!
I am hoping to get the groups standard bearer done next!
All the best!

He certainly does have character!
Lovely figure with a lovely paintjob.
Love the fleshtones, they work really well.
Show us more!

COOL Little Guy! As you say, the Lad has a LOT of personality which your LOVELY brushwork enhances SPLENDIDLY.

Hi!
Heres the latest Goblin I painted up:
There was a nasty miscast bit on one side of his head which required lots of work to clean up and disguise but he turned out alright and has some real character!
Heres a pic of the full group so far (apologies for the slightly blurry pics!)

All the best!

Nice work. Looking good.
:D

They look great, especially as a group. I like the non standard coloring, who say's goblins have to be green! I look forward to seeing more, and would encourage you to work on the whole warband at the same time, makes picking out similar colors each much faster.
-
:-* :-* :-*
-
Them's proper gobl'ns, yes they are. 8)
-
I agree, proper Goblins. I like your natural colors a lot, the little buggers look quite a bit more dangerous than in bright greens and reds and yellows. Well done.
-
I can't agree more than with all the others who like your skin tones. Let's start a new movement to go against the GW tide - Real colours for Real Goblins!

Hi!
Thanks for the comments folks!
I have been painting up some heavy support for my gobbos and will post a pic in the morning.
I had been on the lookout for a troll or similar monster for them but ended up using some bits and bobs I found cheaply at my local games stores bits box. The resulting creature is a bit unusual looking but should do for the time being!
All the best!

Hi!
Heres the latest addition to the warband:
The Antioch
Hes a hodgepodge of bits with the head of a beast of slaanesh, the body of an old rat ogre and the legs of a trollblood, all of which I rummaged out of a bits box!
Heres a groupshot to show how big he is:

Gamewise, I suspect he will act as a troll who the goblins have retained to add some much needed muscle to their force!
All the best

I also like the non-green colour scheme.

that looks pretty good, a very nice conversion that fits well.

COOL! The Odd Aardvark Guy is a GREAT mini & fits in nicely with the shorter Fellows... a FINE piece of conversion/kit-bashing work. VERY WELL DONE!
-
Nice conversion richard.Got a nice little group shaping up.
-
I took a look through some of my old goblins and I think the goblin with scimitar is an old Citadel one.
-
Ha thats messed up.
-
lol
Love the big chap, he is quality!
-
That is some outstanding conversion work you've done with the 'troll'. Nice job!
-
Hi!
After a bit of time out I've got another goblin finished:

Goblin Archer
I have also converted a Leviathan Carnodon to give my force some fast moving troops:
Carnodon
I still need to add a back banner to the little fellow but the warband is starting to come together nicely!
All the best!
-
Love the Goblin cavalry! That looks really really good, and has a certain Labyrinth/Brian Froud sort of feel to it. Great stuff, looking forwards to seeing it painted.
-
VERY COOL STUFF! I love the dark metal armor on your Archer...VERY NICELY DONE!
The Goblin Knight is a gem; your green stuffing is EXCEPTIONALLY WELL DONE & his mount is the perfect steed for the Little Cavalier, especially with your improvements. It's good to see I'm not the only one who uses toothpicks in his modeling.
-
Hi!
Thanks for the comments folks!
Ive just primed him and will try and get him finished today along with a few more infantry!
I am also considering converting a Lesser Goblin Wartower into a mobile artillery piece to give my Goblins a bit of much needed firepower!
All the best!
-
:o :o :o
I love that mounted Goblin!
Fantastic work.
The archer is very nice, too. Love the work you do on their faces, noses especially.
(Where is the mount from?)
-
Hi!
The mount is a Goblin Carnodon from the Grendel Leviathan range! Theres some really nice sculpts in the range which fit in nicely with any old school force!
All the best!

Hi!
The orc and goblin range has some really nice stuff in it!

The titanosaur is a lovely piece of kit and massive to boot!
All the best!
