Title: 20mm WWI?
Post by: benglish on October 19, 2011, 01:07:45 PM
Hey guys.

Any tips on the best figs and vehicles for 20mm WWI?

Is anyone doing this period in this scale?  I've not seen many references to it.

For plastic 1 72nd have a look at the Plastic Soldier Review website

They have sections for each of the major periods and include lots of pics and reviews.

There have been a few releases over the past few months on there re WWI

lancerminiatures.com (http://lancerminiatures.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=36&zenid=a30ee2e8e1b43ebbe635c2f7bf8e47c2) have relased the beginning of a 2o mm WWI range, for now just some Brits but with more Brits and Germans in the pipeline for January release. Looking at their site, I think the aim is to cover the whole war.

Very nice and crisp, sculpted by the fellow that sculpts for Early War Miniatures (old Tom Tin range ?).

Got my first Tommys yesterday and they are splendid fellows.  :)

Yeah, HaT has some good stuff but it takes forever to get into production. I'm looking at the metal at the moment.

Greetings Flashman, almost right, the Lancer miniatures range early war miniatures makes the moulds for me but the masters are made by Martin Baker, and I spoke to him yesterday to order the mortor teams for the Brits, and keep this under your hat, but we are in discussian about the Russian civil war, but dont tell a soul ;)

My favorite WWI 20mm figures come from;

Tumbling Dice Miniatures (early & late war);
http://www.tumblingdiceuk.com/worldwar.html

and

B & B Miniatures (Palestine & German East Africa);

Loose lips sinks ships and all that. Possibilities for civilian combatants then ? Perhaps also on bicycles ?  lol

Sorry Flashman, but same applies as with western front, without picture of bicycles leading a charge across the steppes its not going to happen.
PS just seen the picture of the new officer with monocle, I should have him by Friday, looks spiffing
