Title: In which I attempt to show a Tibetan Lamasery wot I built
Post by: Howard Whitehouse on September 24, 2006, 06:45:19 PM
I shall now attempt, for the very first time, to link a picture from my brand new, hardly-anything-up gallery at Displaced Miniatures.

This is (I hope) a Tibetan Lamasery: :?

and this is the back of the same establishment:

while a third photo shows not only a wider view of the lamasery, but the backsides of Historicon attendees.

Not the best photos in the world, but thanks to Chris Vaughn for snapping them under adverse conditions! H

I have no idea why I put this up on the CoC board. I meant to go for Back of Beyond.

Astute readers will know that Tibetan religion is primarily Buddhist, although the older Bon faith may survive. At no point has Tibet been associated with the Lovecraftian Mythos, except in, oh, passing references in 'The Thing that Walked on the Wind'.

And that was made up. Really --H

Alas, these are the only pics I have of this version, but two more lamaseries are on my work table as the 'cutting out the windows' stage. I've built (and sold) two, and have a customer for the third one (I hope to keep number four). I'll see about getting better photos of these.

Foamcore walls, corrugated card roof tiles, stone-patterned plastic card for the lower walls, bell from a Chinese ornament. What else can I say? H
