Should have these cast by Jan 2008.  Four variants total will be available eventually.

Modern wargaming isn't my cup of tea at all but actually that could be a nice car for the Future Wars.

Same here! In fact I was already eyeballing it for 'future' duty....

Very cool, great looking kit.

I agree it looks really scifi, just the job for alien bug hunting.

Oooh, I definately see potential for that APC in a Post Apocalypse setting as well :D

Great job there, CompanyB!

One reason I green lighted doing the Stryker, and taking the time to sculpt all the variants (no more sleep for me!!!)  is that is has great potential for future war scenarios, zombies, horror, etc.  I'll be outfitting one with a squad of hazard suit copplestone troops, to rid the streets of the zombie menace (or be eaten, depending on the die rolls...)

If anyone cares to see the new Hollywood remake of "I am Legend" they will use Strykers during the evacuation of New York sequence.  not sure if they will be fighting off the cannibal/vampires (or whatever it turns out to be...)

As is, it works and a good standard troop transport for any troops.  Stargate anyone?

Yes, it will go very well with my Copplestone Future Wars troopers.

Would it be feasible for you make a couple of futuristic turret variants to add a little variety?

Any hint of what the price may be?

Pricing...well that's still to be determined till I get back the casting quotes.  I'd expect it to be similar to our other larger models like the WW2 LVT's, or Brigade Games larger WW1 tanks.

Although, with the dollar dropping like a stone, it will probably be cheaper for anyone outside of the U.S.

And yes, there will be some metal crew and soldier figs as well.  Just waiting for some buddies and relatives to send me photos of themselves in their Stryker gear.

First release will be both the command and troop versions.  Slate armor will be an optional add-on kit.

An alternate "Sci-Fi" turret sounds interesting.  I'll have to see what I can drum up.
Maybe a condensed version of the "Rail Gun", or one of the weapon systems that is in development (real , but futuristic looking.)

ooo, nasty looking gun.

I actually don't mind making some sort of turret.  Perhaps along the lines of the turret from the wheeled APC in the movie Aliens.

I would think that a piece that that would be useful for a variety of items.  I'll just add it to the Robots "parts" section we'll eventually have, when the WW2 robots are done.

That would be just perfect

Even without a more scifi turret, it's still a great model & subject to price [I'm cheap, ok!   ] I'd love to have one [or two, or...]

Cheers,
Ian

Brent,

Any update on the follow-on versions of the stryker?  The command version is excellent (have built one of the four i got from you recently, with number two about to be painted).

From memory, i think you'd planned to release the anti-tank version next, but the thread above mentions a sci-fi turret - perhaps the best of both worlds would be to go for the actual fire support turret (in service today), which has something like a 105mm long barrel - looks pretty sci-fi, but is legit for modern use.

Also any news on crew figures (a gunner?) and or a slate armour pack (although i guess a could make the latter out of green stuff)?

BTW - the command version comes with 2 x 50 cals, plus a smaller (30 cal?) weapon - so far have only used a single 50 cal with the mount, just wondered how the others could be mounted as well?

Thanks again - a lovely piece of kit (although the $ has strenghtened dramatically recently).

 :)

The Stryker comes with several heavy machine guns.  They usually only mounted one at a time though, as the gun is remote controlled with Sat feeds, night vision, etc.  Probably some other stuff I've seen in the real deal that is supposed to be under wraps as well.  Believe me, one machine gun on it is enough.  These usually travel in squads of 3 to 4, with air support.

We tried to figure out a slat armor add-on, but the only way to make one that is reproducible is with etched brass.  it's easy enough to make your own with plastic...but just remember that it makes these top heavy..and if you are using it for a Zombie hunter, too many of the buggers on there will tip it over!

New versions..  The MGS is next on my list for it.  Some good resources just came available so I can get some accurate measurments.  I'd also consider the TOW version as well.
