Title: Prussian Field Artillery uniforms 1870

Can anyone suggest any sources/painting guides for FPW uniforms other than the Osprey books? I am particularly interested in artillery uniforms

You will be needing this book:

Uniforms of the FPW Vol 1: The Prussian Army 1870 by R Marrieson, published by Partizan Press I think.

I have it, beautifully illustrated. It is perfect for your needs.
