I've added some pictures to my Sudan War Gallery, on page 6, showing the first of my Egyptian Frontier Forece. They are all Perry Miniatures and are in summer dress order.

Tidy. Like 'em. White uniforms can be tricky to do, and you have pulled it off, I would say. And anybody with a fez is good in my book. I have some befezzed Italian Askaris to do soon. Looking forward to that.
If you don't mind the tiniest bit of criticism though, I do wish you'd link directly to the page in question, rather than to your homepage when you give us updates like this. Clicking two extra times expends more effort than I care to sometimes, lazy person that I am! Sometimes I get tired and confused, and give up looking before finding the figures in question :)
-
Thanks Plynkes. I've really struggled in the painting of WHITE! Aargh! Now I have to start the Sudanese infantry, also in WHITE! Aaaaargh!!!!!
On the matter of the link, Freewebs won't go to a specific page I've found, so even linking to the gallery will mean further clicks. Sorry. Perhaps you need a stronger ovaltine brand for your bedtime drink!

I thought it must be something like that. Boo! Lousy Freewebs. I like them less and less each day.
Yet Paul manages to link to individual pages, and he uses Freewebs. He must have secret knowledge denied to the likes of us.

I was thinking the same but felt embarrased to point it out, the shy Swede that I am.
And I now recall, as yp01 points out, that Freewebs has some peculiarities.

Very nice!
Just to be awkward, I don't mind the extra clicky, as I usually get lost and end up finding something special and inspiring on my way!
-
Great work as usual, David. I think you did a fantastic job on the white uniforms, and I really like the Krupp gun as well. Thank you for sharing!
-
Splendid! Told you they would come out all white
-
Bl**dy funny, Robinson! Just you wait til you have to command them in the New Year, you'll be stuffed! :freak: Hows the weirdo WW II going? :o Addled your brains yet? :freak: Get back to the Great War and proper wargaming! :)

Fantastic! David, you keep inspiring me to get back to Sudan!

Very lovely, David!

So, the Prof also has access to the secret black arts......
-
Well actually the Prof only did what Yanks said he could do anyway, which is post a link to the start of each gallery. What he can't do is link to individual gallery pages or to individual pics in the gallery.

And anybody with a fez is good in my book.
Second that! More fezzes(?) for the Lead God!!
-
I've just finished three command figures, so I'll add them later today! Then, its on to Sudanese infantry. WHITE!!!! Aaaaaaaaaargh!
-
As promised, Egyptian Frontier Force command element photos added to the Sudan Gallery ~

{OK for you Plynkes?}

David - out of curiosity, what rules do you use for Sudan?
-
Dominic,
We use a Warhammer variant, derived from the set of Warhammer Fantasy rules, which were published in Wargames Illustrated a while back. We are still working on our set, so many ideas are just scribbled notes here and there, or even in our heads! I don't like sets like The Sword & the Flame much, but may buy the reprint of Science Vs Pluck, as I like Howard Whitehouse's approach to games.

A white horse too, you are a glutton for punishment :)
I shall be proud to command them.

You can take a white horse anywhere, you know, if I remember my tv adverts correctly!
