Title: Void 1.1
Post by: leutenantbrittan on November 17, 2011, 05:36:38 PM
Hi!

I'm just wondering if there are any void 1.1 players out there anymore! I am about to embark on a mini project revolving around collecting a small force so I can have a bash at painting and gaming with them!

I am still trying to decide on which force to collect and was wondering what everyone's favourite forces are! I am also on the look out for any pics people might have of their painted models for inspiration!

Void is a bit of a gem of a game and deserves a bit more attention and I'm quite looking forward to getting the project underway!

All the best!

I played the heck out of it a couple of years ago; back when it was still called VOID and was owned by i-Kore. Good times back then!

As a result I have a very large Viridian army, a smaller Syntha army and a small strikeforce of VASA. I didn't care much for the change of VASA's look, nor did I care much for Metropolis and the whole grim-dark setting they changed it into.

The game itself was quite good, but Syntha units were just too underpriced in my experience. Also, their weaponry was vastly better than anything any other force could muster. That and there were just too many templates flying around during the course of a game. All other complaints are minor and niggiling. The basic system was great and it was a breath of fresh air, initially, with it's setting being something other than grim-dark.

Ah well - now they'll find use for Blasters & Bulkheads instead :)

Hi!

I have started a bit of a project log over on my blog to chronicle my attempts with collecting a Void force for the sum of £10 a month!

I am also looking for anyone else who would be interested in taking part in the challenge? If you are please feel free to post here or over on my blog!

I'm not into gaming and have so much Void stuff that I have no need to buy any more...but from a model making/painting perspective, I will happily get a bit of void stuff going and post info.

I won't be bound by price or army list though...

If this is OK then I am all for it.  I have a LOT of bikes to sort out :).

Hi!

Please feel free! I'm limiting myself as I'm skint but if you have lots of figures sitting unpainted then feel free to post your progress!

Also don't feel limited to any specific army list, the only limit would be that could folks please limit themselves to mostly void 1.1 or urban mammoth miniatures!

All the best!

Well, thanks to you, I now have three assembled Viper Wing bikes and a Hero & Liander Bike with side-car.  That is the first of three squads (all the same) with a Lieutenant to lead it (making 13 bikes in all).

...your little plan is already working :D

Wow!

That sounds like an amazing looking force! The vyper wing bikes were some of the best miniatures in the range with a definite Akira vibe!

It will be great to see them all painted!

All the best!

I've plugged this over at my blog:

I've linked to your blog as well so hopefully we get a lot of people on board.  It will be good to see a few modern paint-jobs on these classic minis.

Nice, gritty stuff there :) .  I like the addition of the little details on the belt buckles too.  How many are you planning on as a force?

@Inso--dunno yet.  Since I'm relatively new in paining sci-fi and such (grew up making WW2 stuff), I'm not sure what direction Im going yet :0
I did see a really cool base idea awhile back on UM's pdf they used to put out.  A watery looking base vs terrain.
