Finished this miniature as HQ-vignette for our Leipzig-game. It's a brilliant miniature by the very talented Scibor from Scibor miniatures which was great fun to paint. I gave him a bit more attention than the average wargame figure.

Amazing painting even though I'm not too sold on those particular models :)

Really liked this when I first saw it on SD. The cannonball is a fantastic and imaginative addition.
-
I have the figure but yours is sooooo much better painted. I also like the cannon ball and the fact that Olde Shorty is standing on a box!

Fun little vignette. Nice work 8)
-
Lovely work, voted for it over on S.D. ;)

Gorgeous, the ball and box, yes, but the table and bush are reamrkable, too. The table looks as if it is really made of wood. :o
-
So you did this brilliant paintjob!! I voted for him on SD-forum everytime, my favourite entry in the comp!
Outstanding.

ditto - very nice indeed :-*

A lovely figure.
So well painted, if I only could paint half as well.
Thank you for sharing.

Wonderful brushwork :-* :-* The nmm on the scabbard is rather stunning 8)

ON ANOTHER FORUM?

I like the map ;)

Great painting, not so great sculpt. Scibor should stick to press-moulding GW stuff, which appears to be his true calling.

Why is this a "not so great sculpt", Arthur? Could you give us more details?
-
I was gonna say, this is a fantastic sculpt, with a gorgeous paintjob! I like the use of the Dollshouse table and yep, the cannonball is a great and imaginative addition that really gives it a sense of time and place. ;)

It's a nice mini, and a great paintjob, but what's the deal with those whiskers? If he's supposed to be Napoleon, the whiskers make him look a bit too british in my eyes?
-
Fan-bloody-tastic paint job admiral! ;D
The model must be one of those love/loathe type miniatures. I think its cracking! As previously stated, good use of the dolls house furniture. Dam! I wish mine looked that real!! :'(
-
Yep, saw this on SD forum too, glad to see it here. This is the kind of interpretation of a mini that I want to see every day, great job!

I think he's supposed to be an actual-fantasy-dwarf version of Napoleon, rather than a caricature of the real thing. Scibor makes lots of dwarfs.

That's exactly the point, Steve. It's the dwarven version of Napoleon.
:)
-
The best KIND of Napoleon.
Only way it could be better was as a prudish elf (that's a bit short). lol
-
I like it, what you have done with it is just great.
What's the deal with these press moulding comments regarding scibor, this is the second time I've seen negative stuff about him.
Sorry do not want to derail the thread away from your great work admiral I like his dwarfs and am just curious,
cheers

Well, I don't know enough about Scibor's early GW-conversions and stuff he did years ago, but it seems there is a bunch of people hating him for whatever reasons (concentrating themselves on another forum ...). In my view Scibor is a very talented and creative sculptor NOW with a great output of fantastic miniatures. And that is all what counts for me.

We are totally agreed on the fact that his stuff is great :D

Beautiful work, Admiral! A true beauty!!
How did you make the map? Is this a printed piece of paper?

Thanks! The map is indeed printed paper; it's an old map of the Jena battlefield I googled for on the net ... :D
A very thin glazing with inks for ageing the paper, then folding and re-folding, that's all.
