Hey, I closely recognise at least one of those pics.  lol

Nice to see the options pooled together like this.

You missed out Worldworks cardstock PDF buildings, they have modular sky scrapers and the usual urban apartments etc...

I highly recommend the Fenris laser cutter service, it's outstanding especially for all the highly repetitive details which some pieces need.

Also if you're looking for British styled buildings there's scalescene.

These are paper kits, some pieces of it have to be mounted on various card stock and they have interiors. They're designed to be for OO railway scale so for 28mm I've had them output on A3 (150%) and they're lovely.

Scalescenes stuff is nice but a little over complicated for our purposes. Also I've found the A3 enlargement works best to actually 134% from OO (lots of issues with staples over my zombie building prints).

It might be worth including examples of Plasticville and Ameritown buildings as well, although one has to acquire them from secondary sources (eBay, etc.). Also the Old Glory resin buildings.

Victorian style buildings from Micro Art... interesting, though I fear they'll be too much for my wallet  :(

I think I have some of the TVAG-pdf buildings for 'GoNY'-style games (I don't remember - never got around to building any of my TVAG-stuff), and may have to settle for that option, anyway.

But a nice compilation of options, here, should I strike the big win one day  ;)

I like a lot of room for my figures hence the extra leap, that also gets them in scale to my builds. Where do the staples come into it though?

Demo's Laser Cut Designs (http://demoslasercutdesigns.blogspot.com/) is a relative newcomer, run by the same guy who maintains Cyborg Trucker's Blog. Might be worth checking out.

Patrick Wilson's (TVAG) Mean Street buildings can look really good. Here are a few I put together:

Oh the chimp staffed warehouse. I use a decent printshop so email the pdfs, pick them up later that day. I did wonder how you got staples in a pdf...  :)

K-line is another railroad source for inexpensive buildings.

I can't afford the wargaming models and I hate paper so railroad stores for me!

I've come across these guys recently:

http://demoslasercutdesigns.blogspot.com/

The website is a little rough, but the buildings are fantastic for the price, and lot of new stuff coming out. The 4-pack of shops is on my short list for terrain buys.

Can anyone with firsthand experience of plasticville and K-Line tell us if they are on the large end or the small end.

I could do with some buildings in that style in S-scale, which is more 1/64-1/60 or true 25mm.

I bought three Plasticville houses recently in N Gauge.  The Cape Cod Houses (two to a pack), Police Station, and a residential house.  The residential house seemed to be way too small to me.  It has two floors and a garage but seems scaled small.  Figures would touch the ceiling is you put an actual second floor in it.

The Cape Cod houses are nice.  But they are more like one room fishing shacks.  The Police Station is a good size for a small town sheriff's office.  One floor and enough room inside to add a few things.

Hope that is a little helpful at least.

Plasticville makes a lot of there stuff in multiple scales.  So you can get the same house in HO that you can get in N.  THat said, I'm just getting into their stuff so it is possible that they have one off pieces for a particular scale.

Plasticville were meant to be somewhere between S and O guage and are noticeably smaller than my Walther's O guage buildings. K-line has been less consistent.

As a point of reference:  If you order the newer Plasticville (as in the above picture) the blue boxes are in a smaller scale not suitable for 28mm gaming.  The stuff you want is in the green bordered boxes.  Sorry I can't recall the scale designations. Trsut me on the color of the boxes though.

A while back in future wars someone posted a link to an American company that makes foamcore skyscrapers, I though these would be good as less detailed "background" pieces. Can anyone remember what the site was?

I remember what you are talking about.  I thought I bookmarked it, but I can't seem to find what I think it was.  It wasn't GameCraft was it?  It looks close, but I think the ones you were talking about were bigger.

Thanks wellender, those are the exact ones I was thinking of. A couple of the 10 story ones would set a table off nicely.

Also, not quite buildings, but some good stuff from Eureka for decorating rooms:

Just thought I'd let you guys know about my recent purchase from Demo's Laser Cut Design.  I purchased the modular factory and the 4-pack of shops on Wednesday and had them in my hand by Saturday.  Everything is very well made and fits together perfectly.  So far I have only built the four roofs for the shops, but that only took a few minutes to do.  A great product and I look forward to getting more soon.
