Damn Agis, those are SAAWEEET!!! Im not a WH person (more SST) but i really like you're builds especially the older minis (pre-40k).
-
Brilliant. Always good to see your stuff :-* :-* :-*
-
Great stuff as always Agis! I'm always impressed by the rich tones that you achieve.
-
very nice stuff Agis :-*
I really like your painting style. The rusty shades in armours are brilliant :P How did you paint them?
cheers

Very nice work and an interesting take on a SW army. :)
-
Paint recipe:
Figures are based black, armour is painted Vallejo Black Grey (70682), all the details are painted and the whole mini gets a thinned down army painter dark shade painted on.
After that some MIG pigments on the legs and here and there.
Then MIG Pigment fixer, makes also everything Matt.
Then highlights, Black grey again and more and more Vallejo Medium Sea grey (70870).
Final highlights pure white.

many thanks mate :)
I'm a bit surprised about army painter dark shade. I have never used it because I thought it was not possible to paint highlights on it. I use gw washes instead. BTW It seems to work well too! ;)

They look really good! I'm a big fan of the darker SW armor which is what I went with on my own SW army when I got it.
Edit: What do you use for thinning the Quick Shade?
-
I am thinning QS with Nitro, just a bit.
Most important part - PAINT it, do not dip!
Dipping is IMO like a brute force attack, while painting it is more controlled.
The key to highlighting it is the MIG Pigment fixer, it makes it MATT again.
Maybe even an additional thin layer of Matt varnish.

Doing very well, I may be releasing a dedicated Victory Decision: Raid! book next year.
But I doubt that I can ever share my 40K based stats without doing a serious copyright violation...
;)
I have only done some Space Marine and Eldar stats for playtesting the core rules.
If a system gives a an enjoyable and balanced 1,5h battle with 5 Marines vs 10 Eldar or normal Humans you are on the right way.

Some more pics taken in the natural habitat of the Wolves, the untamed Fenrisian tundra...
