Hi everyone
Where do I buy a 28mm Mansion building?
-
Worldworks has some nice paper models
-
At the other end of the scale, Grand Manner has a resin country house in its WW2 range that might suit. Depends what you are looking for.
-
Grand Manner er perfect, but expensive!
I can't afford that sadly!

What about plasticville's colonial mansion 0 scale?

A bit small but it won't crowd your table.

Check out the Hovels Hougemont building
This one look really really nice! Im just a bit worried about the "25mm scale" category.
does anyone have any experience with hovels 25mm buildings? Its seems the entire set with wall and external buildings is enough to be a gaming table in its own right!
Its a big plus that i got detachable roofs and the Chateau has a detachable first storey.

I think this is the one, but still worried about the 25mm stamp.....

If you're using 28-30mm models, then I can confirm that Hovels will be a bit too small. I use their old west buildings and they're smaller than the rest of my collection.
I'm sure I saw a news feature in the latest Wargames Soldiers and Strategy mag (don't have it to hand now) that said Sarissa Precision were about to make a 28mm scale Hougomont, which is pretty exiting news!
-
Thanks for answering! confirmed that the buildings are too small.
I'll wait for the product you are telling about!
Sorry to tell all the producers, 15mm OR 28mm are the way of the future.

Vikotnik recently put me onto a building by JR miniatures available through Magister Militum:
http://www.navigatorminiatures.com/product.asp?numRecordPosition=10&P_ID=5797&strPageHistory=cat&strKeywords=&SearchFor=&PT_ID=145
Or there's this one:
http://www.navigatorminiatures.com/product.asp?numRecordPosition=18&P_ID=5985&strPageHistory=cat&strKeywords=&SearchFor=&PT_ID=809
Either could form the main building of a mansion and it's grounds.

The JR Miniatures buildings are 25mm and too small, I've seen them at Crisis 2011 in Antwerp and compared them with one of Bob Murch's cultists.
-
Emailed JR miniatures and they answered with some measurements, doors are 1 inch tall, thats 2,54cm, most of my miniatures are 28-30mm tall. seems to small for me.

Brian,
The measurements for the 5100 Chew House are:
6 1/2 inches long
7 inches tall
7 Inches wide at the widest point, this includes the steps
The doors are 1 inch in height
Hope this helps J

Email from Sarissa Precision:
-----------------------------------------------------
We have a huge selection of new designs that we are working on at the moment and among them is a large mansion. We're about to release a large SciFi range which will take us into the new year and then we'll begin on these.
Thanks,
Steve

I think this is the one, but still worried about the 25mm stamp.....
I have lots of the Hovels buildings and I agree that they are on the small side but nothing that makes me hesitate to use them with any of the 28mm ranges on the market. Really good value. The Sarissa news sounds exciting though...
-
try this one for free is you like paper models :

Hi
Just to confirm, Steves Email, at Sarissa. There is a mad number of designs for next year, including some City style buildings (different window styles) and Chateau... the door should be max 35mm high.
The Sci-Fi stuff is cool... but I would say that.

Like the look of those Sarissa buildings.. just hafto wait untill after christmas to be able to afford them :D spent to much on christmas sales.
-
Heres a preview image... theres Russian, ww2, stuff to come too

Hi everyone.
I went for paper building temporary, until the Sarrisa building is available.
The kamera's flash made it look much more light, then in real life. And the right tower is a stand-alone, so you can make the building smaller or different.
The model in front is a 28mm gripping beast Saxon, for comparison only ofcourse.

Looks good for what it is. The Sarissa looks great.....
-
Hi again, just put some trees and drywall stone fence beside the paper model:

This one is a Creatology wooden puzzle of the US White House/presidential residence.
I cut the bottom level off with a jigsaw and gave it a brick paint wash to make it look less whitehouse-ish. I want to make a gabled roof for it to give it a more gothic look.

Looks good Carpathian! Nice atmospheric photo too 8)
Got any closeups?
-
Didn't take one at this game, but it is down there at the end of the table. A mix of stuff out of the terrain box.
Also have the Creatology princess castle puzzle. It should make a nice ruined chateau. Maybe I'll put it together for Kublacon in May.

DON"T pay the Amazon price. It was less than $10 retail. If it's out of print, buy it on ebay.
