Title: [W]Looking for theese dwarfs![H] cash or trade
Post by: Faber on December 15, 2011, 12:44:10 PM
EDIT: sorry Hammers, I posted this in Workbench instead of in Bazar of Obscurities... can you move please?
sorry mate... o_o

I found this pic on CMON, it is a Mordheim Dwarf warband by Leszczu. I really love this style and I'd like to find those minis... I'm interested in founding the ones in the red squares. Have cash or trade. I know there is some conversion (especially in the engineer) and I'd like to know where the bits come from.

Top is Burlok Damminson, GW circa 2000, without banner pole and a crossbow (from the Mordheim accessories sprue?) added. Centre are out of the box Marauder Thunderers. Bottom are assorted war machine crew with the exception of the bald chap with the eyepatch who's the Bugman's rangers champion. The chap with the double bladed axe is a conversion and he was originally a gun swabber.

Don't know if any of these are still available from GW. If not, Ebay is your friend.

Good for you! You might also want to consider these chaps for your vertically-challenged warband:

Drunken Dwarfs! Quite old sculpts by Colin Dixon that fit very well with the Marauder Dwarfs.

These were the start (and end) of my "on hold" Mordheim Dwarf warband. Tragically, I have the attention span of a goldfish with attention deficit disorder.

I think this is quite a common problem in the modellers community. :D
but  :o delicious drunken dwarfs! I love the first one on the right, really perfect! Very nice paintjob mate.
Now I have to search for them...mate, you gave the final hit to my poor budget showing me this chaps!
cheers!

Hiya--I have a spare Thunderer #9. It is unpainted, but based. Not sure if it is worth the postage from the US for a single fig, but let me know if you are interested?

Ok...here are the thunderers I have to spare...they are painted to a middling standard...I have since moved onto a different color scheme with my thunderers but can't bring myself to strip these guys...so you'll have to do it yourself if you want them.  As you can see there are 7 total but only 5 unique sculpts...I'm willing to split those out if you only want the unique ones. (sorry for the crappy picture...I snapped with my phone in a hurry this morning)

FYI I think I also have the drunk shown above on the left who is leaning on his crossbow and drinking his beer.

Let me know if you are interested and I'll quote you a price via PM.

Cheers,

Blue

hey mate! try to shoot me a price of model plus shipping!

@Bleu in vt: sorry mate, but I do not never buy painted minis :( Those models are exactly what I was searching for but I'm mainly interested in painting and I hate to strip minis! BTW is the drinking chap you have painted too? If not how much model plus shipping?

Cheers

Thanks mate! Let me know what exactly you would like to sell and a shipping rate from the exotic USA lol
PS: I did not want to be arsh about your models, it's just I hate strippin minis and I buy them only to paint! I'm sure they are good painted (especially because I've seen how you paint mate ;)) but I think I would not buy them even if painted at a GD standard :)

Call yourself a mini collector... DON'T STRIP!!!!! Part of the fun mate! Your fingers should be numbed by paint stripper and the skin peeling away by now! ;)

Oh...sorry.  that came across wrong...in no way was I suggesting that you were doging my paint job on these minis...I expect them to be stripped...I am just having a hard time doing it myself because I spent a lot of time on them...but they are not up to my current standards so into the jar they go.  And thanks for the comments on my painting.... ;D  My comment was more in surprise that you don't strip minis yourself....most of the best deals I've gotten off of eBay are for poorly painted but rare minis...they always sell for less...so I'm happy to strip! (figures that is... lol)

Anyway...here are the un painted versions of the five sculpts I could part with:

As you can see one of them has a thin white prime coat on it...not sure if thats a problem.

I do have drunk and he is unpainted.

Cheers,

Blue

I have now all the dwarfs showed in the pic  :P
