Here are some buildings I recently finished painting for my Strange Aeons table. I wanted a rural property somewhat like the Dunwich Horror with a barn and a cabin. The barn is plasticville and the cabin is from Lionel.

wow, very atmospheric Flair :-* :o
-
very interesting setting! The buildings are great! Is the interior meant to be from a museum?
-
I replace the windows with a clouded plastic and I use a flickering LED light so the buildings looked lived in. I did something similar with my apartment block. I built a wood plank floor for the barn because it is just really an open space. You can stack a couple of crates in there. I bought the cabin second-hand, so the interior was a little warped.
-
I like those ;D
I was lucky to have a barn kit given to me a while back, which I managed to get finished recently. I haven't seen the cabin before - definitley one to look out for.

Ramirez, I totally stole your idea! I had the chance to buy the barn last year but I wasn't sure how well it would turn out. After I saw your post and went and bought it right away.
-
Very impressive! (You should post some pics to the thread ;) )
-
Fantastic work, perfect atmosphere. May I ask what you used for the cobblestone effect on the road surface?
-
It is a LeMax Christmas cobblestone mat I got at Michaels. I painted it black and than drybrushed it. I wish I could say I cut out all the stones individually like some fellows on this site, but I am simply not that patient.
-
Great work! Makes me want to paint up my Plasticville Buildings.
-
The car, where is that from?
same with the nice trees?
-
Lovely.
I'm not usually a fan of the plasticville buildings. They look just, too... well... plasticky ::)
But your repaints really bring them to life. Great work. Well done :)
-
Very nice buildings. I have a couple of these plasticville buildings that I need to get done as well and this is the kind of look that I would be very satisfied if I can achieve it, well done. The flickering light is a really nice touch.
-
Those buildings look great! Very spooky!
-
The trees are from a company called Scliech. Got them at a big sale a few years ago, otherwise they are very expensive. They are a little big but they don't shed like my other trees do. The car is a grocery delivery model from Ertl that I thought made a cool black mysterious vehicle for a group of cultists or threshold agents. it was really beat up when I bought it, but looks okay now.
I've been totally inspired by the work on this web-site. When I look at my earlier work I always shove it back in the box. I've come to realize I'm a good painter, not s much a good builder.

:o
Absolutely superb work, sir!
They simply ooze atmosphere!
:-* :-*
-
Very creepy.
You couldn't get me to go in there! :o
It's interesting to see quaint buildings meant for model railroading transformed like this.
-
wow very nice very lovecraftian !
where are the miniatures from ?
-
Love the creepy look, very efficient ^^
-
The miniatures are from Pulp Figures and Coppelstone.
-
Great work on the buildings. The picture ablbum is most impressive too.

That barn is the Plasticville O scale dairy barn? I see they have another barn which doesn't look quite like that, and of course an entire HO line which would be too small for 28mm gaming? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure Plasticville makes 2 barns. I used the dairy barn because it has a little more depth, not such a simple design.
-
It's the O Scale one? Thanks.

More cool photos.
Excellent painting on the buildings.
Went to your Flickr page, lots of very nice toys.

Wow! those buildungs look great - the extreme edge highlighting you've done looks GREAT!
-
Are there really lights on in the buildings, or is that painted on.
Either way, it adds a lonely creepy look.
Love your stuff.
