Had this sitting in a box for too long, its a lovely kit and paints up really easily.

Its a plastic kit; two head options, a few arms, different casualty for the base and a lot of leaves! I'll probably get another if we play a bit more LotR down the club.

Plastic eh? You can't tell 8)
I've always fancied making an Ent or two (not to game with, just to have). The ones from the films are good but I always felt they should have more foliage, moss, birds nest etc.
I might give it a go for the LPL :)

Lovely Ent! He has a slightly smug but bewildered "Bertie Wooster, gentleman of the forest" look to him. Really nice work.
I have Treebeard sitting around in a box somewhere, should really paint him up.

Very nice.
I rather like these Ents, they look like trees... which is always a bonus. I really dislike the GW wood elf one.
Thanks for showing us!
Cheers

And excellently painted! How did you paint this one? I am always curious to see how people paint wood as I am personally very bad at it.

I started with a dark brown and grey mix (negro and slate grey from Coat D'Arms), then did a couple of lighter drybrushes with the original colour, lightened with a khaki colour (probably foundry Drab B? or GW Kommando Khaki). I then painted a patches of GW hawk turquoise and Foundry Moss A, which were then painted over with horizontal lines with a slightly lighter shade (hawk turqiuoise with CDA light blue and Foundry moss B). Then I gave the whole model a light khaki drybrush to bring it all together. Then I picked out the Leaves using the Foundry Moss Triad and painted the mushrooms red with white dots.
Hope that helps?

A lot, thank you. It really looks sharp. I would never have thought about using turqoise on a tree but it looks really neat.

Lovely.
I love the kit although making more than one ent using it seems wrong.. they all seem to come from different branches in the book.
-
...and the film.
Fantastic kit though, I can imagine making two or three with a bit of conversion.
There's also Majestic Bear Industries who have some verrrrry nice Ents.
Great paintjob fella, I'm getting more into LOTR at the moment, finishing off some of my Moria collection (by adding new stuff!!!).

He looks nice and beechy - great work! 8)

Very nice work.
Having just watched the LOTR (extended ed) trilogy again, recently, it is great to see your work. He would fit right at home when the Ents marched to war.

Lovely :-* :-* :-*

Lovely work on the Ent :)

Beautifully painted - the trick with Ents is not to be too hasty... lol
Sorry guys, I couldn't resist that - its all that business about them being tucked away for ages in boxes etc...
