Hello!
Has anyone used Redoubt's Russo-Japanese War figures for RCW, and how do they compare size wise with Copplestone or Brigade figures? I'm thinking the Ensign and NCO might come in handy for White troops. The Ensign has a double headed Eagle on the flag staff which should work. They also have some banners which might work for some White units. Thanks!

They are actually pretty good. I've got some I use as reservists, and they look fine next to Brigade, Copplestone, etc. from memory you need to be pretty picky on the figures. Some are superb, some are ok, and some are crap. But overall a good addition.

I use the Russian sailors for RCW they are pretty ok and in the same scale as the copplestone range

The flags are good, although they are regimental banners and would not be taken in the front line.
I don't like the eagle on the pole though. Most units didn't have eagles, and they were much smaller anyway.

Are there any miniatures in particular that stand out, for better or for worse? I've considering getting some to make a small, late 19th century skirmish force. The pictures available on Redoubt's site unfortunately do not provide the clearest image of the figures' quality.

Thank You Gentlemen; some good input.

Apologies for the thread-necromancy, but I don't believe it would be right to start a whole new thread for my previous question. I'd really like to know some specifics on the quality of the range, chiefly because I don't want to spend a fair deal of money to buy a force marred by some poorly made figures.
The reason I'm so interested is that Redoubt is currently the only company (that I've found) who produce 28mm Russian figures with the 1890s double-breated tunic. I'd be equally appreciative if anyone knows of and could point me to another company that does.

Old Glory has Boxer Rebellion Russians that might fit

Tsuba miniatures are doing Russo-Japanese war figures (our very own Maichus is doing them) but I don't know whether they have a double breasted tunic or not.

The Japanese figures look fantastic I must say, but I haven't been able to find any Russians. Are they pending to be sculpted?

For such early sculpts they still look great! Alas they do not have the double-breasted tunic, but hopefully some early-war figures will be made.
However, I might reconsider and get these regardless if this impressive level of quality is maintained. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on them!

It might be worth contacting Ironclad Miniatures, they I know are in the process of producing some late 19thC Russians in 28mm
