Who makes skeletron? Are they "classic" 25mm or 28mm?

i think medusa is a dark sword casting, the skeletons are gw, a few weapon swaps, and metal spears replacing the over sized gw ones, the shields are plastic wargames factory

Very nicely painted. Pushes all the right buttons for me.
And again, it shows the hidden qualities of WF figures brought to light by a careful paintjob. Looking forward to see them finished.

Very nice indeed. Cracking painting and the model choices show just how far off the mark Foundry are with their latest efforts.

Is it me, or does there seem to be a lot of Greek mythology about these days?  ???

That said, always happy to see more when it's as gorgeously presented as this.  :D

Looking forward to seeing how the project progresses from here.  :)

It's not you. I think that Foundry's new Mythology rules set Tribes of Legend had a lot to do with it.

It's not you. I think that Foundry's new Mythology rules set Tribes of Legend had a lot to do with it.

I think he may have meant in popular culture as a whole... The remake of Clash of the Titans... That Immortals movie... Percy Jackson and the Olympians (novels, graphic novels, movie, etc and other spin-of series by Rick Riordan).... The new(-ish) Olympians Rule graphic novel series by George O'Connor... I've read no less that four Graphic novel adaptations of the Odyssey published in the last couple years...

AND THEN the foundry miniature line... and their rules...

I'm sure there's plenty more, that's just off the top of my head.

Fantastic start. Love it all. I have not even started on mine, but will eventualy.

Scott Pyle's ruleset(Labors of the Gods) is a cherry though.

I really like those skellies too - very Jason and the Argonauts a la Harryhausen. Hmm, I see a SoBH warband or two coming along soon.

I just realized I have extra hoplite shields/spears/swords from my Amazons box.  Now for some old GW skellies and I can copy your success.  Thanks for the wonderful idea.

I'd love to see a Charon miniature, based on the character (?) from the 1981 movie Clash of the Titans... You know, skeleton guy in a black shroud/cloak, not saying a word, just holding out his hand for the coins  :)

And speaking of which, that classic Ray Harryhausen Medusa begs to be represented, too.

I agree Aggro - my thoughts precisely. They are much better than I thought they would be. This may tempt me into grabbing a box or two.

I was kind of waiting for the new Victrix to come out, but now I'm not so sure. You made the Wargames Factory figs look phenomial Major Smith. Well done. What paints are you using for the flesh?

There is this one from Reaper, but not really what you're looking for I think

Cheers guys! The wf Greeks are very good I think, detail on the greaves is a bit :/ but with a few head changes they look great, also the backs of the shields are a bit crap to no recess for a hand to fit in, makes gluing a pain, as for paints on the flesh I just use games workshop dark flesh, dwarf and elf :)

Effective! It's been a long time since I've seriously looked at GW paints.

Amazing! High quality painting combined with a clever choice of figures and dome conversion work. Well done, hope to see it going.
