Title: "Dangerous Dames" from Pulp Figures
Post by: Ironworker on January 11, 2008, 11:02:18 PM
Ok I finally finsihed and based the "Dangerous Dames" from my WIP so here they are in all their "Shelf of Eternal Happieness" glory.  These are speed painted table top figs for RPGs and miniature games not contest or show pieces.

I'm pretty happy with them.  They arn't perfect but they will work nicely in my pulp adventure games.

You sound like you're being defensive, don't be, those are very nice  :)
People here appreciate people who paint miniatures excellently but they also appreciate people who actually get miniatures painted, and use them! (Especially when they're done to a good standard like yours.)

Top marks all round!
Now do some more. Oh, and finish your desert board and have a game on it. And take photos and write about it. And... Oh, you know, do all that stuff that some forums just talk about doing

It's a natural thing to do Paul, among this elite crowd.

I always have to resist the urge to start with a list of excuses why it isn't top-notch before I post any work here!  :)

They're lovely paint-jobs, that's my opinion. Though I think around my neck of the woods some of those dames are seriously in danger of coming under the category of 'munter', though that is no fault of Ironworker's!

Granted they're dogs. But they're well painted dogs

Ah I just coppied this post from the Reaper site where the Wargamers/Roleplayer seems pretty outnumbered by the "I wanna win a Golden Deamon" crowd.  If you don't spend 40 hours a fig and do things just like the GD winners it can't be a well painted mini.  Last year we had an all out throw down between the gamer painters and the contest painters.

Our hobby is very diverse and caters to all sorts of people with very different ideas on what they want out of it.

Having said that the competition painters need to remember that without gamer painters there wouldn't have been any painting competitions to begin with

They may be speed-painted, but I think they are really great. Fantastic work, love'em.

Certainly nice enough for me. I have a couple of those lying low in my 'ready for undercoating' box. Just have to glue them to a base and fill it, then I could be painting them... hmmm....

I think they look great, if anything Bob Murch's fiigures benefit from a less fussy paint style. I am sure lots of people get enjoyment from entering painting competitions, but I would rather have figures on a table.

Second that!!!

Then, there's people like the Prof. who does both. I'm not green with envy. Honestly. Wanna buy the Golden Gate Bridge, anyone..?

Those are very nice.

I wish I could get my shading as good as yours.

I've read your work bench posts.

I'm going to try your wash method and see if it works for me. It certainly works for you
