Oooh, those Americans are very nice Ray (the Dwarves are nice too! :)), though I'm interested to know what makes them VSF? :P

The sun helmets. Though the US did have a few years when they actually wore (in dress uniform) sun helmets with spikes, they never wore them in the field. Whereas in my strange little world, the yanks wear "proper" uniform for battle.

lol
Oh, what a fool I am for even asking!

I enjoy torturing little British minis by painting them blue! lol

Where can I get the dwarf mage? Really liked that mini.

He is from the Citadel dwarf adventurer range...circa 1987. A great figure though the sphere gave me fits! eBay or a want post here in the bazaar are your best bets for finding him these days
Here he is on SOL: http://www.solegends.com/citcat88/0306dwfadvs.htm
Nice entry Ray! The blue you achieved is very rich... Best of luck!

Best of luck!
I think you may be slowly getting the upper hand, Blue! :D

taht dwarf wizard is one of my favorite citadel dwarfs, very worthy paintjob!
-
Lovely old school dwarfs - usually a good sign that Blue is behind it!
-
Oh My God, three dwarfs I don't have in my collection :'(
Great job ! :)
-
Great entry Ray. Very bold and tidy paintwork. The blues work terribly well.
May I venture that this is one of those matches where the large imbalance in votes doesn't reflect the actual degree of differential in the paintwork! (IMHO) :)
But people round here do like a good dwarf - and Blue is a renowned master of things dwarvish!

I agree with this thought completely. I would be more than happy to field a force of Ray's excellent "Americans" on any battlefield.
BTW Capt.....congrats on 5000! posts!!!

For good reason, he is a superb painter.
Well done, Blue. I bow before your dwarvishness. :)

Cracking job Blue - love the crystal ball and that wizard is one of my fave dwarf minis!
Ray - love the idea of torturing minis by painting them in the "wrong" uniform - mind you they should be happy in those snappy blue outfits! ;)

Just FYI, the Dwarf Wizard figure was available through the GW online store as part of a set of 10 dwarf "collectors" miniatures, so there should be quite a few of them out there. I'm not finding in on the GW website currently, but it might be worth giving them a call direct...
